DEAR ADOBE: PLEASE STO PMESSING AROUND WITH PREMIERE

I am fed up with Adobe "fixing" things that aren't broken, and rarely focusing on things that are broken.

Not only do you now force us to pay a subscription fee which we can't get out of or just purchase the version we like, but we are also forced to keep updating to your stupid overly complicated versions with 95% of features I will never, ever use.

I just want to simply edit. I don't want fancy new stuff, I want a stable version that just does the basics and that's it.

For instance, you went and changed the way transitions work, and they are so frustrating. You can't grab them easily, it adjusts everything else except the bloody transition because unless you are zoomed right in - it isnt very clear when they are or aren't selected anymore.. it has significantly slowed down my workflow, causing added work, frustration and wasted time.

Why did you have to go and change it to look like some cheap iMovie program???

Please STOP MESSING around with Premiere!

Stop adding stupid stuff only 1% of people will ever use.

Honestly, I will be looking to change platforms. I am DONE with Adobe.

It's always fascinating ... the previous post I just replied to of course is absolutely opposite to yours ... they want Capcut style features and auto-everything in Premiere.

I tend to be more towards your side, I don't need a ton of new stuff. And the changes moving the Fx badge to the end of the clip simply removed most actual use of the Fx badge for many of us and at the same time, as an added pain, made it more difficult to do trims and transition changes.

Sometimes if I'm doing the trim or transition work, I simply turn off the Fx badges, as many do now.

like the ability to do the audio cross-fade transition simply on the timeline though. And for that, I need to turn the Fx badges off.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

I think we have become the guinea pigs for them, it's cheaper for them to test all their beta stuff out on us than it is to do the right thing and test out new updates adequately first before rolling it out.

It's funny because three things happened after I posted my original comment, and now I'm twice as angry as before.

First, a moderator edited and censored my original post which I find highly offensive and quite frankly a disgusting overreach. To rub the salt in, they made typos when editing - the subject line being one. I did not swear or abuse anyone, so it's completely unnacceptable to censor me. Talk about poking a hornets nest... and just so the moderator reading this comment knows - I HAVE TAKEN SCREEN SHOTS THIS TIME.

Second, I received a reply on a post I made 6+ years ago about a bug I reported - that Adobe still hasn't fixed - and at least once a week I get comments from people equally as frustrated about it.

Third, it turns out I should have waited a bit longer before my outburst, because now I have discovered even more issues with the update that has been causing me grief since I posted.

The update broke some basic features, including the audio track mixer which just refused to be anything other than a blank box when switching to that window. And no, I will not waste all my bloody time to send screen shots and try workarounds because Adobe will not stop their incessant, unnessesary "features".

This has been my frustration for years - basic things that break after every update and cause us hours of lost time, effort, energy and problem solving. Will Adobe COMPENSATE me for that? I have clients and a business to run.

It is the reason I always have the updates set to manual and I wait about 6 months before updating - except for some reason this time, it updated automatically, I don't know how or why but I am pissed.

I've been a customer of Adobes for 10+ years, and have been patient and understanding. That has run out now.
