You really need the serial number.

If it has been registered (optional up to CS4 and part of activation from CS5 on), you may find it here under your (then) Adobe ID, under Your Products:

If it is CS2 or CS3, you will need to download new versions and serial numbers, see below; for later versions, you can use what you (may) have or download, see below:

Note: If you have the CS2 Premium Suite version, you will have to download the Standard, and then download Acrobat and GoLive separately under their own replacement serial numbers.
