new computer-How do i switch licensing to new computer?

I just purchased a new laptop with windows 8.1, i need to install my adobe acrobat X standard software and don't know how to relinquish the old laptop usage of the license. How do i let the software know im simply adding it to a new computer and retiring it from an old computer? Thanks ahead of time for the help

On the old laptop, open Acrobat X and click Help > Deactivate. That will free up one activation against your Adobe ID on the Adobe activation server.

You can leave it installed and deactivated in case you ever want to reactivate it.

On the new laptop, install and activate the software as usual.

The old laptop died, I cannot access it...

Then you'll have to contact Adobe to get the software deactivated.
