Interactive PDF: Some word documents not working when clicked.

Hello all,

PROBLEM: Word documents will not open on Mac if made and linked from PC. Word documents made on Mac and linked on Mac work fine.

Has anybody else experienced this before?

I'm setting up a pdf in Indesign where when you click a button it will open up a word document. I've done this before multiple times with nothing going wrong. This is packaged in a folder with the pdf so everything is in order. I'm the only Mac in my office. Everyone else is running PC. This is a collaborative project between the office so we're constantly going back and forth between machines. Recently I noticed that when I click to open up a word document from one of the pages that my coworkers have set up is that it will not work and says that the link is broken. This is a pretty normal thing as links become broken when revisions are made and titles are changed. The weird part is that on their computers they can still view the word documents and even the ones that I've done like nothing is wrong. It's just my Mac. The only word documents that I can view are the ones that I've personally linked from my Mac. My coworkers are able to see the links that I've set up as well so this is not a huge issue but it is very strange that awhile back I could view them and now I can't. I know their will be someone in comments shouting "USE ACROBAT" but I'm not. I'm using Indesign so if you have any other suggestions besides that let me know.
