Hey, @Maxence_Verbrugghe3708. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

Please share the system info from Lightroom Classic from Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

I see in the screenshots that Lightroom Sync is enabled, and only smart previews are available for a few images. Try pausing sync and see if that helps.

If it does help, we can figure out more with the Diagnostic report. In Lightroom Classic Preferences > Lightroom Sync Tab > Press and hold the ALT/OPT Key to generate a Diagnostic report.

Generally, you can log in to Lightroom Web (https://adobe.ly/3uv2zCA) and look for the Sync Issues category near the Deleted section on the left part of the screen. If there are any Sync issues, check the file name & the original upload source, apply minor edits or tags to these images, and wait a while to check if the edits sync to the cloud.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Hi @Maxence_Verbrugghe3708! Thank you for sharing your system information. I'm really sorry to hear that Lightroom is running slow — I know how frustrating that can be, especially on a powerful setup like yours.

Here are a few quick things you can try to improve performance:

1) Turn off Face Detection
Go to Catalog Settings > Metadata tab and uncheck "Automatically detect faces in all photos."

2) Test GPU Settings
Go to Preferences > Performance, set "Use Graphics Processor" to Off, then restart Lightroom. If it doesn’t help, switch it back to Auto.

3) Optimize the Catalog
Go to File > Optimize Catalog.

4) Clear Cache & Use Smart Previews
In Preferences > Performance, click Purge Cache under "Camera Raw Cache Settings."
Also, under Develop, check "Use Smart Previews instead of Originals" to ease system load during editing.

5) Try a New Catalog
Create a new catalog and import 20–30 photos. Use Lightroom for a bit and check your system’s performance (Activity Monitor).
