Lagging without using all resources

Hello,

I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CC since a few days. Today I wanted to start a project, but evey time I want to work with videos in 1080p Premiere is extremely laggy.

My hardware is the following: Ryzen 1600, GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB RAM (only 3 GB are reservated for the system)

I am working on an SSD, I cleared the cache, and under the settings CUDA support is enabled. If I watch the task manager while playing the preview, the CPU uses less than 30% of their capacity, GPU uses less than 10% and approx. 5GB Ram are used.

The preview is set to 1/4.

I do not now what I should do to get rid of the lag, but it is impossible to edit a video like that. I do not have used effects until now, it is still the raw cut.

The video files are from a smartphone and filmed in 1080p. The whole length of the clips is 7 minutes in total (each 10-30 seconds).

Do you guys have any idea what else I can try?

Best regards

Hi Maxm,

Adjust your Memory preferences to reserve more RAM for other applications. I am using 8 GB for other applications, which includes enough memory for your OS to run.

I have heard of performance issues with AMD processors, however, nothing official. Just some reports I've seen in the wild and on YouTube. They are supported.

Finally, the smaller the camera, the more likely you'll need to either transcode the footage or use proxies. It depends on your workflow. Can you try that, as well?

Thank You,
