Video Hardware

Hi!I will have to get a new laptop for work, where I will do some video editing in Premiere Pro. My employer suggests a Lenovo with this graphic card: NVIDIA Quadro T1000 Max-Q 4GB GDDR6.Do you think it will work ok? I wont be doing very advanced editing, but the video clips are sometimes long (webinars etc). A desktop is not an option, I will be editing while travelling.Thank you in advance for your input!  

I'm currently shopping for a 17in Windows laptop that can edit 4k footage. I have read that AMD processors render much slower than Intel processors in Premiere Pro due to optimization. I've also heard there are new settings to optimize AMD to run much faster. What's everyone experience with AMD in Premiere? The 2 processors I'm currently debating are AMD Ryzen 7 4800H 8 Cores vs. Intel Core i7-10750H 6 core.

Hi all, just ungraded my computer and wondered which drive(s) I should a) install os on. b)install premier on. c)media? i have a setup as follows: an nvme drive 256gb a 250gb SSD and a few 1tb HDD. i also have another nvme slot that I'm going to populate with perhaps a bit bigger nvme, in the near future. The os is on nvme drive with premier on. The SSD has media and projects on. 1tb is used as a backup drive. Is this the best way to have my setup, or should I change it? I obviously want the best drive performance. thanks Dave

Hello,I'm curious to hear your opinions on what computer specs work best with Premiere Pro. Here's my short story: I bought a new 2020 iMac 27" back in September with 3.6GHz 10-core i9 Intel, 128GB RAM, 1TB storage, and AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT 16GB. I have recently been having tons of trouble working in Premiere and lucky to get 2 minutes worth of work before the app freezes and crashes the computer. Apple Store had it for a few days, downgraded me back to Catalina OS and it's still giving me trouble. And of course this happened with a new client's project that wants it done at the end of this week. Because why not? So, I decided to go out and buy a Dell XPS 17 from Best Buy. This laptop has an i7 Intel, 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6GB. This setup is working per se but it's struggling on the export file (20 minute sequence). My questions are:How is my iMac giving me trouble being that it's a very powerful system?What's different with the Dell (other

HelloJust reaching out for any advice, pointers as how to proceed.We have been experiencing some issues when running Premiere pro recently and feel it is linked with a recent upgrade on the nvida graphics card driver - however it is also around the same time as a windows 10 upgrade and also a premoiere pro uprgade .......  I also noticed that the on board Intel grpahics driver has been updated The main issue seems to be a blue screen / stop code error / crash (video dxgkrnl fatal error)Not sure what triggers the error -can work on and run thru projects for a while and it seems to randomly happen but far too often - as well as some other error issues iwthin permiere itslef  - buffer and memory warnings... I am talking with nvidia and they suugest the onboard Intel should be turned off - in the BIOS and via device manager..  SO just seeking any knowledge on these matters...   I am not techie PC wise, the system was fine 2 months back but has suffer

Hi,my old graphics card just died... I have to buy a new one. The problem is the output of my monitor (a dell 3007wfp) which is dual-link DVI-I. Do you know any card which will work decently for Premiere Pro 2020 that have dual-link DVI? (the budget is limited to $400). Do you know if a conversor from dual-link DVI-I to DisplayPort exists? (I could not find any on amazon)... if does exists the dual-link DVI restriction can be lifted. Thanks 

I've been looking at a new PC, which will need to meet or exceed the recommended (rather than the minimum) specs for Premiere Pro CC and it's been mentioned to me that the published specs on the website are probably a bit dated.Can anyone advise what the more current recommended specs might be, and what I should be looking for above and beyond those specs to perhaps future proof any system I might consider buying? Thanks

A person can ask questions like what trype of hard drive are you using or how much RAM do you have but those questions can all be answered if they show us their computer stats. The vdieo below will allow new members to do some of the troubleshooting on thier own. One can ponder if it is the RAM, CPU or hard drive but checking the systems stats will answer the question and identify the weakest link. That being said we still may not be able to resolve the issues but we will have much more information about the person's computer system eliminating a lot of guess work.

Can anyone bring assurances that my PC can handle a subscription to the Creative Cloud?  I want to use Premier, AfterEffects, DreamWeaver, PhotoShop, and whatever the audio recording and editing software is called, and many more.  Is space or speed an issue?  Does one store all on the cloud or can one also keep work on external drives?  Can anyone put me at ease about hang-up-free functionality?  I don't want to obligate myself to a sizable subscription cost and face user logistics problems.  Who can help?.

Hello guys, I am experiencing some lag and crashing (black playback screen) while using Premiere Pro. I can, with much hassle, complete a 4k UHD Edit and Export; but I'm wondering if my build is really cutting it hardware-wise. I'm not doing any special effects just yet, trying to get my basic editing and color correction down first. Is something wrong with my system?

I built a computer for my wife this past JanuaryIt stopped working on 4-17... just quit for no visible reason1 - replaced the power supply, but still would not start2 - replaced the motherboard, but still would not start3 - replaced the Intel i7 CPU, started and runs   Going back to Pentium 3 days I have built myself 4 computers (this was the 2nd for my wife) and I have never had a problem with any of them (built new for more speed) so I guess this was just a bad CPU   Side note... while talking to Intel about a replacement, I was asked to provide the batch number (which is printed on the top of the metal CPU case) and the serial number which is etched along the side of the tiny "motherboard" the CPU is mounted on... which is so small & faint that I could not see it... I was only able to see the SN when I took a close up picture with my camera, which let me see the number that was too faint for my unaided eyes   Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had an In

We have a small live children's theatre that has been presenting online this past year. I'm looking at a refurb 27in iMac (2020 model, 10-core Intel Core i9, Radeon Pro 5700 XT with 16GB of GDDR6 memory), but it will run close to $4500 CDN once I add the needed memory. Should I be considering the new 24 in iMac: with 16g memory and a 2Tb drive, it comes in at $3100 CDN. I am creating 10 to 15 minute videos using 4k footage with color grading and some effects. The products are presented on Vimeo and the like as HD files, not 4K.
