  Hello there fellow creators! alil about myself, i do videos for my youtube channel. This is not a promotion so i wont link it unless anyone interested to know more of what i do to get a better picture to help me. That being said, i used to run APP using AMD's FX8350 CPU and a Quadro 2000 GPU. While its a cool processor, i thought to upgrade to get better work flow and smooth editing (as my AMD build gets real slow when i have a huge project). I upgraded to to intel i7 4790k CPU with Geforce GTX Titan Z. (I now have the Titan X Maxwell.) with all three GPU's Im seeing that the same thing happens when i have huge projects with effects and so on. I wondered how much of my GPU was adobe really using and i found out (with GPU and CPU monitoring software) that adobe is using about 10-20% of my GPU's power. My CPU its at 100% on playback (with huge project).  Ok so all that being said, im aware that GPU and CPU work together and that a slow CPU wont work well with a fast GPU etc.

Hi everyone,I am looking into purchasing the following laptop from Best Buy as below:HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 15.6" 4K Ultra HD Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 512GB Solid State Drive Bla… The only thing I'm worried about is the processor being dual-core (and not quad-core). From my research, quad-core is always better for video editing. However, since it has a 2.9-GHz 7th Gen i7-7500U CPU, would this laptop be sufficient for editing 4K resolution files in Premiere Pro?Any help is appreciated. Thank you.-Dean

Old PC64gb ddr34930k six core780tiI work on red epic raw 8k footage and I'll tell you using neat video or sharpening will make the footage go from 10 minute render time with no effects to 56 minute render time if I apply those effects. What assists in faster render times the cpu, gpu or ram? I didn't notice a huge jump when I upgraded from 32 to 64. Would it better to buy something like 4 top of the line AMD cards? Or 1 gtx 1080? Im seeing workstations just aren't viable and way too expensive for me to be worth it. I was thinking new build would be 128gb ram ddr4gtx 1080 6900k 8 core processor 4ghz overclockedWill I see a massive increase in render times? Or just marginal? Would it be better if it was 32 gb ddr4 ram four amd r9's? Also I want to do a little bit of 3d simulations, so I'm guessing that's gpu intensive more so than cpu and ram... I'm unsure what to get... Any help is appreciate thanks guys.

Hey, I'm having trouble with my trial of Premiere Pro CC 2017. I decided to try it out for video editing, however I've had a number of problems thus far and only sort of fixed most of them.First, I'll give you my specs:Intel 6900k (4.0GHz @1.15v)2 EVGA Classified 980Ti's (in SLI)Adobe installed on a 1TB SSD (not the OS boot disc)128GB DDR4 (~100GB Reserved for Adobe)Windows 10 Home 64-bitPSU and cooling info can be asked, but won't really play a factor, as the system is operational under synthetic 100% load in the mid 50C range.Now what's been going on and what I've 'fixed':Issue: Rendering issue in preview and source monitors (only hear audio, but no video is shown)'Fix': Delete preferences folder in my documents folder (must repeat every time I want to open Premiere) meaning I can't save keybindings or other preferencesIssue: Auto-save causes a soft crash of the renderer that results in issue 1'Fix': Auto-save disabled permanently (kind of a problem if I forget and it crashes)Issue:

is it better to have a 4ghz 4 core chip or a 22 core 2 ghz xeon for premiere? i need to know what runs premiere the best and the fastest out of those types of extremes

I searched the forum but didn't see a recent post for this question, so I thought I'd start one. I am getting ready to build new computers for our editing suite. With 4K video being here, I'm wonder on what elements I'll need to build a machine for Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects that can handle multiple cameras of 4K video without lag and that renders quickly. We spend the majority of our editing time with computer related delays. I'd like to circumvent that Any advice?[Moved to hardware forum by mod]

I decided to download a trial version of Adobe Premiere because I just switched from Mac to a custom-built Windows. Unfortunately, I have not been able to have the program work for me at all. It opens up fine, but when I import media all I get is a gray or white screen when I try to preview it. There's no audio when I scrub music files, and no video when I scrub on the preview/timeline. I've tried different file types (.mp4 and .wmv for example) but no luck. In addition to that, it crashes every time I try to quit out of it without fail. At this point, I'm wondering if it's something to do with my system requirements, and if so, if there's any suggestions on what I should try to change. Any help would be appreciated! I have a 5k iMac and am just starting to dabble in 4K editing. It's really choppy. Unfortunately I only have the 2gb graphics card. I'm thinking about updating the fusion drive with an ssd to increase performance. Finances are pushing me for a smaller ssd and will be storing th media on an external usb 3 drive. If the media will be in a non ssd external drive is there any point to the upgrade? With a 500gb I do have the option of doing everything on the internal drive and then transferring it for storage but that seems like a pain.

About Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration: Works fine with Premiere Pro CC 2015, but not with Premiere Pro CC 2017. Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce CTS 250. What to do?

I recently downloaded the latest version of PP 2017 and immediately discovered it does not support my Windows 10 CUDA GPU. I've had extreme problems in the past every time I upgraded PP and was told to buy a new Computer. I did. I bought a new Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Series (Alienware) Laptop. PP 2015 works just fine on it but 2017 apparently does not support my CUDA GPU. When I open a previous project or try to create a new one, I get a warning message that PP does not recognize my CUDA card. The Video rendering and Playback option allows only 'Mercury Playback Engine Software Only.'  (And yes, I updated my GPU driver).         This machine is about 7 months old so I have three questions.1) Do I need to buy a new computer (new GPU card) every time I update Premiere Pro? If not2) Is there a bug in this version that does not offer CUDA support? If so,3) Will the next update of PP offer CUDA support?My machine specs:Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Series

Let's say you have four physical hard drives on your system:C:, the System Drive, has CC installed on it😧 has your project files and footage/Source Audio and resources (like scores and audio samples)E: is your Scratch DriveF: is your render drive1. If you were to export a sequence from a project on E: to a folder on F:, which drive would have the highest level of usage during the render? (Assuming they were all identical drives?)2. If you were playing your sequence inside Premiere Pro CC, which drive would have the highest level of usage during the playback on the sequence? Hi, every time i want to start a thread here i give up even before trying but i so hope someone will have an answer to my question since i'm sure even Adobe doesn't have one.How many execution units on your integrated gpu are necessary to allow mercury engine to work?I tried with my integrated from the intel 6600k, which has 24EU and it worked flawlessly.Then i tried with my notebook with just 12EU (Atom Z8300) but Premiere told me "not enough executions units available" and it won't allow me to use it. Naturally editing in "software only" is impossible, especially on low power machines.Do you have experience with this matter? Some Intel processors have 18EU. Will them be enough? Hello,After a bit of time spent scanning forums and trying various things, it seems my tried and trusty graphics card is not supported in the new Premiere Pro 2017 upgrade, and so I cannot use graphics acceleration.  I have a GTX 660 TiI'm a video person before a tech person, so my understanding of how hardware works and what is what is pretty rudimentary.  Looking at the long list of new supported cards and then going online and seeing a whole slew of others available at my local PC store:  eg GTX 1050 Ti, I am at a loss as to what would work best.  I am on a budget, so $700 cards are not an option.  My computer is a bit old, but still working well and replacing it at the moment is not an option financially.Thoughts?My system, if needed is:Core I7-3770 @3.4GHZ16 GB RamWindows 7 Pro 64 bitThank you in advance for your assistance.Regards,Bill[Moderator note: moved to appropriate forum]

Hi all,Well I am building a PC for the first time (with some help thankfully). I've loved Macs but hey, budgets are a real thing and I'd rather not spend $3k for dated hardware. So in this build I will be having a 256GB SSD (M.2 at 8Gb/s) and a 1TB HDD (both WD Black drives).My theory here was I was going to use the SSD for Windows and my core, everyday applications: web browser, anti-virus, etc. The HDD would however house Premiere, as well as all media content (raw, render/temp files, projects, etc.) The reasoning is I thought (and have had this thought reinforced by a friend) that having the media on the same drive as the program is quicker, since there's less cross talk between drives as Premiere tries to communicate with the media.What do people think about this? Is it worth keeping Premiere with the media, would it be faster if the program was on the SSD, or would it not really matter either way? I know, ideally I would have 2 SSDs but you know how it is haha.Just looking to hear

I seem to have regular crahses and audio stutters when using an asio based sound card such as my Roland Duo EX or my internal Asus STX card, I then get an error in Audio hardware window 'XXXsoundcard not working'. My computer is very high spec, does Adobe have a problem handling professioal audio cards, asio cards?Would I be better to stick to the regular windows/microsoft drivers and sound and can someone tell me where to find them as I can only see my asio cards showing in the Audio Hardware propeties?  thanks
