I'm using Acrobat DC Pro.I am trying to show or hide a field based on the calculated total that appears in a field named NVCA Raw Score. The calculated field has possible numbers of 0 - 7. If the calculated field displays number 0 - 4, I want to hide the FLAGGED field. If the calculated fields displays numbers 5, 6, or 7, I want the hidden field to display. I've tried my best to cobble some JavaScript together from other scripts using < >, but the hidden field never displays. I've learned a lot from this group, but still need help every once in a while. Any help will be very appreciated.var nResult = this.getField("NVCA Raw Score").value; if ( nResult >= 4 ) { this.getField("FLAGGED").display = display.visible; } else if ( nResult <= 4 ) { this.getField("FLAGGED").display = display.hidden; } Many thanks,Charliecharlie6067

I'm creating a form that will use pull down menus with basic choices to start. I will have the box checked to let the user enter custom text. Is there a way to have that custom entry automatically add itself to the existing pull down menu items so that it is available as an additional choice to the user the next time they fill that field out?

I want to replace "X" in var chk = this.getField("PX.myCheck.chkAmount") using an incremented value based on a condition.My objective is to add script to this example so that if(num2.value > "") then the field name "PX.myCheck.chkAmount" will become "P1.myCheck.chkAmount". Example:var num2 = this.getField("num.chk.02");var i = 0if(num2.value > "")(i = i + 1; var chk = this.getField("P1.myCheck.chkAmount";chk.value = num2.value);
Hi,First, let me apologize because this question is basically a duplicate of question 9881727, which was asked a couple of weeks ago. However, it was never answered.I'm using Acrobat Javascript and creating both annotations and field objects, e.g. buttons and text boxes. The field objects always obscure the annotations. Stated another way, the field objects are on top of the annotations.Question: Is there any way to make annotations visible whenever they overlap field objects? Perhaps some programmable Z-order property for either annotations or field objects?Note that I don't need alternative programming suggestions in order to avoid this issue, I just need to know if an annotations can ever be made visible when they overlap a field object? Note that my field objects are NOT transparent, i.e. they are solidly colored.Thanks for your help!
I created a document (I don't know how to upload a pdf, therefore you can access a sample via Dropbox : https://www.dropbox.com/s/fni2eur4t1w48qa/Data_collecting%20.pdf?dl=0) of several pages and I need to extract the value of a field which can appear on some of the pages.These fields are named:Source.0Source.1Source.2 etc.Page one can start with the field Source.2the following page can be free of such a fieldThe field Source.8 may appear on page 3etc.I am trying to scan each page for finding a field starting with "Source." and if found, to copy its value to another field starting with "Result." but with the same index :Result.3 value = Source.2 valueResult.10 value = Source.10 valueetc.Please pay attention : the fields "Source." contain fixed references and the displayed pages are issued from templates. Therefore, I need to know which reference fields appear ont the displayed pages, and then capture their value. The list of "Result" will show part of the fields with a value, and the o
I have an enormous amount of calculated fields, and am trying to audit them to make sure everything is as it should be. It would be easiest for me if I could copy and paste the list into excel to better plan the hierarchy of the fields. Is there a way to print the field calculation order in the javascript console?
For my organization, we have a lot of .pdf files, each of which contain multiple .pdf files within them as attachments (i.e. one single .pdf file that contains other .pdf files within it). I know I can print a .pdf file with the following command via command prompt."C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe" /n /t "filetoprint.pdf" "\\printerserver\printername"While this will print the .pdf in question, it does not print any attachments within the file "filetoprint.pdf". I've scoured google and these forums, yet I haven't seem to found a switch or anything that would enable me to do this. Does anyone have any suggestions? It needs to be done by command line. I would appreciate any help! Thanks!~Justin
I am using Acrobat Pro DC to make a form. The form has a section that is divided into 2 areas which are controlled by radio buttons that are in the same group. When radio1 is selected we want the entry fields in area 1 visible and the entry fields in area 2 hidden. And when radio 2 is selected we want the entry fields in area 2 visible and the entry fields in area 1 hidden. We are using javascript on mouse up actions to accomplish this in acrobat. Everything is working as expected in the preview in acrobat. My issue is that in the saving process it seems that all the javascript is being stripped out. When I go to reopen the file in Acrobat pro, all the fields are still there but there is no javascript attached to them. Is there something that needs to be done or set for the javascript to be saved at the field level?
Hello,I'm able to populate today's date to a single field by inserting this script to the Signature field.this.getField("Datefield1").value = util.printd ("m/d/yyyy", new Date());How can I do an "OR" to the above script so I can insert 5 fields? Reason being is the naming convention of the date field can be five different names. Datefiled1Datefiled2Datefiled3Datefiled4Datefiled5Instead of going into the script and edit the Datefield, I just want the script to work for any of the five.I tired this but no luck....this.getField(("Datefield1")||("Datefield2")).value = util.printd ("m/d/yyyy", new Date());Thank youEd
Is there a way to create page number fields that automatically update when you insert or merge pages from one pdf file to another pdf file? For example, if one pdf file has 4 pages, the page numbering is 1 of 4, 2 of 4, 3 of 4, 4 of 4. If I insert a page from a different pdf document, I want the page numbering to automatically change to Page 1 of 5, 2 of 5, 3 of 5, 4 of 5, and 5 of 5.

After downloading and installing the latest version of Acrobat DC I have found that the application is automatically closing after 30 seconds.I have attempted following suggestions of accepting the EULA manually & locating the license agreement, these do not seem to have worked as it is still closing after 30 seconds.I can open the preferences tab and Acrobat will remain open beyond 30 seconds however once I click OK to exit then Acrobat closes immediately.

I have the following formula and it works but I would like my answer to round to the nearest hundredth. Any help would be greatly appreciated.var ST = this.getField("ST").value;var SR = this.getField("SR").value;var SS = this.getField("SS").value;var SA = this.getField("SA").value;var WT = this.getField("WT").value;var WR = this.getField("WR").value;var WS = this.getField("WS").value;var WA = this.getField("WA").value;if((SA == "" && SA != "0")&&(WA != "0")){ event.value = "TBD";}else{ event.value = (ST*WT)+(SR*WR)+(SS*WS)+(SA*WA);}
Since the update yesterday, when I export an Interactive PDF from InDesign any fields with the same name are renamed. If I attempt to change the names back to being the same in Acrobat I receive an error "A field of different type already uses this name. Please choose a new name for the field, or change the field type to match the existing field with this name."Simply put, I'm wondering if I can no longer have a field with the same name (e.g. 2 text fields wherein the user would type something into field #1 and field #2 would also display the text - useful for client forms).Thank you for any and all help.
I am creating a pdf form by using Acrobat, and I would like to associate a checkbox to an image.In particular, I want to display an image if a user clicks on the corresponding checkbox, and hide the image again when user removes the check.How can I refer to an image? Is it possible?I would appreciate any simple js code examples for achieving this.
Acrobat = Application('Adobe Acrobat');Acrobat.activate();delay(1);this.getField("technotes").value = "This is only a test.";Acrobat activates, but balks at this.Getfield, with error this.Getfield is undefined! Wha??? But if I tell applescript to do as javascript then this.getField works fine!
So, I've been out of the Acro JavaScript loop for a while, but my new role is bringing back to this. Any guidance is appreciated.I have a form that can have up to five different signatures. (completed by, reviewed by, manager one, manager two, senior manager). The form must have completed by/reviewed by signed. However, either of those could be a manager as well. If neither are, then a manager must sign.All that's well and good, but when the form is signed, it needs to move down the workflow until its final submission (likely in SharePoint).Each signature along the way will must be allowed to add to other fields on the form.My though pattern is to email the form as FDF. Problem is that doc.mailForm() doesn't retain the signature.Can someone point me in the right direction? Essentially, my final flow should be something that accomplishes this:Completed by completes form and signs. Then sends for review.Reviewed by reviews the document, comments on previous comments (held in text fields)
