I am trying to pull data from an excel file into a form or text box.I have tried using importTextData, which works on a one-by-one basis, but can this be used to pull an attached file? The end result that i'm hoping for (in case there is a better way to do this) is this:My PDF will be a map with several points on it. I would like each point to be a clickable button/link, and when the user clicks on the point, either a text box pops up with additional info on that site, or there is a form/side panel that displays the additional info.

Is there a way, via javascript, to determine (and change) the initial page that is set in the Open Options for a document?I have a script which does a lot of processing of PDF files, and if the initial page is not set to the first page in the open options, I would like to alert the user, and give the option of changing it if needed.
Hello,I'm using Adobe Acrobat DC to work with a few thousand pdf documents which were scanned over many years, with some being letter sized and others much larger in dimension. I need them all to be letter sized in order to allow for the addition of a cover page that can be properly viewed on the web. Right now I have been resorting to printing a new pdf and shrinking the oversized pages for the larger files, deleting the old file, and inserting the cover page with an action, but obviously this is very time-consuming given the number of documents I'm working with. Also, when I print the new pdfs, the OCR which had been previously run on the documents is lost.Is there any fast way to standardize the dimensions of a batch of pdfs? Thanks,Courtney
Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (current), running on Mac el capitan (current) with Office 365 (current):Using all approaches to creating pdf (save from word, print from word, create in Acrobat from .doc file) - pdfs are created, but interactive links not preserved (headings, appendices, TOC, in text cross references, all dead). I use styles, headings, cross references correctly and have for years. Created pdfs preserve bookmarks and interactive links. I have recently moved to Mac, and none of this works any more! I just get a dumb pdf with no bookmarks.Help - what's going on?J
One of my clients got an error I've never seen before when placing a dynamic stamp that displays a dialog. I confirmed that the issue is not context dependent by running this script from the console window and getting the same error.app.execDialog({description:{elements:[{type:"ok"}]}})The error message is: "Couldn't Convert to Express Views"Has anyone seen this error before or have an idea of what is causing it?The client is also having issues printing to PDF. Not sure if it's related.
So the topic of this thread is basically what I'm trying to accomplish with Javascript. I've tried a lot of things from similar questions on the internet but I can't get this to work. So here's what I'm working with and what I'm trying to accomplish:Here are the names of the fields that I'm working with:Field A = DaysInMonthField B = TotalMonthlyFeeField C = NextMonthField C is where the Javascript will be done. This is what I want it to do:If Field A is less than or equal to 15 then grab the value in Field B and place it in Field C.Can anyone write javascript that will accomplish this?Thank you so much,Matt
My client is looking for a way to only print the pages of a writable pdf that has fields filled in. The document is an application and each page has a total at the bottom. I can figure out how to tell it to see if each total field is greater than zero but that's as far as my expertise goes.
Hello,I hope I can find some assistance regarding this. I am creating digital agreements for my workplace, whereby our sales people take this with them on an iPad and sign clients up for a service. The agreements have an agreement number at the top, e.g. "00001".I need for this to automatically progress when a customer has signed the document and the document has saved, so that when the salesperson next opens the blank document for a new sale the agreement number then says "00002", then "00003" etc.Could this be achieved? If this would be tricky, would there be a way for a popup or option to open when the document is opened saying something along the lines of "Do you need to progress agreement number" with a yes number that advances it by one, and a no option that does not change this? I think the tricky part of this is that it needs to save with the updated number so it can progress by 1 each time the document is opened anew. Please help! For argument's sake the agreement number field i
Can you use the reflow command in the sdk so that you can reflow documents in an application or a browser window instead of inside Acrobat?

IHow do you get Acrobat pragmatically printing tiled (poster) settings? I know what the support (reference document for Javascript states). Use TileAll.... that did not work at all. I have large images that I need to add a couple barcodes to the top and then print without changing the size of the image. So they need to print out at 100%. I can do it manually but I need to automate this process ASAP. Can someone help me? Right now I have a C# app that sends the document through OLE to open, now I just need to modify and PRINT tiled. Of course, this process needs to be duplicatable. I wanted to do this all in OLE but I do not see where I can modify the printer settings.... therefore I was thinking OLE to Javascript. I could do OLE to plugins also but I can not get my new plugin (sample for SDK) to even show up.I am using Acrobat Pro DC.ThanksKory How do you get Acrobat pragmatically printing tiled (poster) settings
Hi All;i'm looking for a way to automate the uploading of a document via an exposed API to the Adobe Doc Cloud so that a link to the document can be shared rather than the document itself. Is this possible? has anyone already solved this problem before?thanksWilliam
Hello all,I'm lost and have been struggling with this for a couple weeks now. I am a decent beginner level who can understand js, copy it and past, then modify to get it working. I am much more limited with regards to creating new scripts from scratch.I have a js 'Action' that performs a batch import: locates txt file, imports data for first record, saves the file with one of the field names, then automatically, pulls the next record and repeats.I'm using Acrobat Pro XI.The problem is that while it populates the data, it will not save the new file to my folder, and thus, will not proceed to the next file.I have performed the research and have traced the problem to the security issues associated with saving files on my company's drives. I believe this is a Trust function and Privilege scripting. I don't quite seem to understand1) how to create a .js file that I save in the javacript folder,2) the javascript folder location is different from where I have seen in blogs that it is supposed
I'm trying to create a form that determines if a patient requires a particular lab based on their history. "field X" is the patient's age and "field Y" is another age. I'm trying to create a script that determines if "field Y" is plus or minus 10 years of the age in "field X". If it is within 10 years I want "field Z" to show. If the age isn't within 10 years, then I want "field Z" to remain hidden.I'd appreciate any help with this. I'm almost done with this form and it's looking great so far. Thanks in advance!
First of all, It is not clear to me whether I'm posting this question in the right forum.I created an interactive fillable form, some fields should be filled by hand, calculations was done in Acrobat Pro to automatically displayed formula results. Here is what is expected to happen in the red framed fields:QTY.: User will type-in the quantity being requestedRequested date: User will type-in the request date (see #4 below)Unit Price: User to type-in Unit priceTotal Price: is an auto calculation. If "Request date" is 1st of June, then formula is as follows [ Qty x Unit Price ]. If the date is not 1st of June then formula should be as follows [ Qty x Unit Price / 2 ]How can I make the Total Price to use If/Then formula, must this be scripted?
I want to be able to get a date object form a date field. I am aware I can do this:var value = getField("date").value;var date = util.scand("yyyy-mm-dd", sDate); But this requires that I know what the date format is.I want to be able to get a date object from a date fields without having to bake the formatting string into the script.Any help would be appreciated
We have an automated check processing software that outputs PCL files that are typically sent to printer to produce checks. Lately, we've been attempting to find out if duplicate checks are being generated by the software. In order to do this, we would like to know if its possible for Adobe DC Pro (or a combination of PCL to PDF converter and Adobe) could "flag" images that have the same check number data element on the form. The check number is always in the same position on the form, so I'm thinking their may be a way to accomplish this through DC Pro. At the end of the day, we would like this process to be automated, with any potential duplicates being captured into a report or some other means. If someone could assist in answering this question, that would be very helpful.Thank you.Paul Saylor
I wish to know if there is a way to set focus at the end of the value when there is already one entered in the field. I have taken the information in this forum on how to auto tab. I have this in the document JavaScript :function goNext(item, event, cName){AFNumber_Keystroke(0,0,0,0,"",true);if(event.rc && AFMergeChange(event).length ==event.target.charLimit) item.getField(cName).setFocus();}And this on mousedown under the Action tab of the field property :this.getField("ShortT.1").setFocus(); This focuses on the entire field and selects whatever is in it. Is there a possibility of just moving the cursor at the end?Thank you.
I have a billing enquiry on Acrobat reader. What is the best way to speak to someone about this as I see telephone support is not offered with this product????
Our process flow invovles the following step:Step 1 - Customer uploads PDF document (At max they will be uploading only 3 varieties of PDF documents) and these will be stored in our serverStep 2 - Each of these 3 types of PDFs needs to be mapped to a specific printer tray (because each printer tray will be loaded with different paper types)We need a solution that would automate the paper tray assignment - no manual intervention should be there to select the paper trayPlease provide that solution !!
