Acrobat SDK

I wrote some Internet pages to PDF. This results in non-searchable files (in contrast to saving Word documents to PDF, which maintains the OCR in the PDF). Once written to PDF, I run OCR on the Internet pages that I saved to make them searchable. This significantly compromises the visual quality of the files. Is there a reason for this or a way to avoid it?

I have Acrobat XI Pro installed in a Win 7/64 environment.  It presently reports being at version 11.0.16 under HELP-About Adobe Acrobat XI Pro ...When it checks for updates automatically, it finds one available and throws the icon in the tray at the lower right.  Alternatively, when I go to manually launch the updater, it brings up the Adobe Acrobat Updater window indicating that "Update is Available".  When I select DOWNLOAD, it throws the icon in the tray at the bottom right of the screen.In either case, when I click the updater icon in the notification tray, it brings up a window indicating that "Update is ready to install".  Selecting INSTALL results in the Windows UAC window asking for the administrator privileges, and then reports "update failed" immediately, with no error code.  This is very annoying.For the time being, I have disabled automatic updates in the EDIT-PREFERENCES-UPDATER window, but I am wondering what the heck is going on and why such a c

Does Acrobat do Graphics Acceleration?I have a dell precision 7710 laptop.  It has a Quadro M5000M.  In NVidia Control Panel I have adobe Acrobat DC to use the Quadro card, but on the task bar, the Quadro Activity icon does not show acrobat using the Quadro.If I run Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop shows it is using the Quadro, but Acrobat does not use the Quadro instead the integrated GPU.Nvidia Says this is an issue with Acrobat.  Is there a setting in Acrobat to use the dedicated GPU?I have some large drawing pdf files that take some time to render on the screen.thanks,Mike

Hello everyone, we're developing a PDF with a Javascript (to add images to the PDF by means of a browse button) for a customer and already now we encounter problems to email the file around. Our customer does not receive the file (blocked by mail system without notification), we do not receive his revised version (attachment blocked but email passes).Email scanning systems become become stringent. Does anyone know an alternative? A workaround? Zipping the file didn't help.At the end the file will be used by several hundred dealers so we can't depend on an uncertain mail system.thanks in advance,Tom

Root.(null):1:Console undefined:Exec script terminated undefined The loop appears to execute once, but then throws an error when evaluating the conditional before the second iteration. I had similar results when casting the loop as a while statement, except that it failed before executing the loop even once, presumably because it had to evaluate the condition before the first iteration.This issue also arose during batch operation.Any insight?

As the description says, I have followed the troubleshooting guide found here:Troubleshoot PDF printing in Acrobat and ReaderI'm unable to print in Adobe Reader XI. I can open it with a web viewer and print it, I can print from every application except Adobe Reader.I have attempted to print as image, saved as a new PDF, restarted, print to different printers.....When I go to View > Tools > there is no Print Production option, only a few drop-downs on the right window pane. None of which contain a Print Production option.Live support doesn't support Reader, so I am here to find what else to troubleshoot.

Hello!I have a form that runs a JavaScript on Submit. It pulls a cc address in from a text field (that is populated by a dropdown selection JavaScript) and submits the form to certain email addresses - this part runs perfectly.I have been asked to update the form to incorporate 4 check boxes and if any of these are selected - the form should be submitted to an additional cc email address.If none are selected then the form runs as it currently is.This may be too general for assistance but I am willing to provide more information if it is helpful.Thank you SO much for sharing your knowledge!

I'm an accountant, and from month to month, I will prepare reports and copy and paste the "referencing" I made out of textboxes, from one document to the next, as they always line up in the same spot on the document.Just recently, I've noticed something odd which I cannot fix and would impact hundreds of textboxes in my documents if I am unable to find a solution. My references include single letter text boxes.Originally, textboxes would allow the text to hug the textbox border tightly, like this: Adobe is now adding, what appears to be cellpadding, resulting in the same boxes appear like this: [   A   ]The issue is that if I double click to edit the text, it will display as if there is no cellpadding, but when I click away, the gap between the text and border reappears. If I copy and paste a textbox from a previous Adobe document which displays like , and paste it somewhere else in the document or in a new document, it automatically gets adjusted to [  A

I am unable to delete two text boxes I inserted with the Fill & Sign tool and now need to delete them. I have tried highlighting and delete, with no results. If you can provide instruction I would be forever grateful.

HELP! when creating comments through tools, text inside comment box is appearing in Greek, but comment list displays in English. How to I change it back to all English??? Not sure what happened but all of a sudden it started doing this...

How can I create a signature that can be superimposed on the document without blocking the text behind it?I've tried stamping - it still has a field around the image that blocks whatever is there; there was a signature that 'floated,' but then it was removed from my system during an upgrade by Adobe.

HI Forum experts , I have created an interactive PDF form with check-boxes and text fields.  I wanted to know if it is possible for 'checkbox 1' to tick, when 'text field 1' has had text entered (JavaScript on the textbox?).  The check-boxes will be on another page and will track the progress of text box completion over time.(The form is going to be used for an ongoing audit).  If you know of a JavaScript / or how to do this - that would be greatly appreciated. When I use the calculate "Sum" feature it does not apply the prefix when spawned. I would like my Total to end up on the last page at the bottom. I'm not sure if I need to create a script using "var =" or something totally different, I have 20 fields on spawned page and I'll need to get the subtotal from parent page to add to total of spawned page.Greatly Appreciate Any Help

Looking for a way to link fields from parent to spawned page fields. I want to be able to fill parent form in and when a specific page is spawned certain fields autofill. I've linked all parent fields to fill when needed, but not sure what script to use for spawned fields.

Hi all,Our requirements are very simple. We have numerous PDFs which are basically scanned copies of the letters that contain text and images. We want to convert them into searchable PDF without losing the document layout and other real image content like logos or pictures. We want to do it programmatically using Acrobate SDK or API and NOT using the Adobe Acrobat Pro DC viewer application. Please let me know which Acrobat SDK do we need to get. Old forums suggest SDKs like Capture or PDF Library or Acrobat SDK or LiveCycle ES. I am not sure which one of these SDKs do we need. These SDKs come with numerous additional functionalities that we don't even need. is there a basic SDK that we can buy for our simple requirement?Regards,Viral Sheth

We are having issues highlighting scanned documents, more specifically documents that Adobe does not recognize as text. When freehanding after several marks, the application freezes and becomes unresponsive causing us to close out of the document.I have the fully updated version of Adobe Acrobat DC and I also have tried to repair the install. We have tested this on multiple machines with multiple documents and the results are the same. This occurs on scanned documents as well as documents that aren't scanned.I am running this on a Windows 7 machine running ver. 15.016.20045

I need to import a csv file as an attachment from a file directory in a pdf document. Hi, has a question about printing drawings from Acrobat Reader XI (and also Acrobat Pro X). When Printing a drawing that has both black/white and colored lines is hard to see on the print out. We have tried print the drawing as Picture and in black/white but the print out is better but still not good enough. The same problem is on different printers. Is there a way to get the print out of colored lines to be better?

I currently make pdfs of AutoCADs that end up rotated 90° clockwise. At times I have MANY AutoCAD pdfs that need to be rotated into correct position. Right now I have to rotate each one individually in order to keep their original file name. How can I rotate all the pdfs at once and extract them individually without losing their filenames?Might there be a JavaScript to do this?
