Solution. Revision previous answer. Premiere slowed to almost an unusa level. But after a week it turned out the problem was the new version . Reinstalled previous version all good again . Hope this helps someone I lost a week trying to fix

Joing thread. same problem. mac srudio M1 64GB RAM, 2 monitors, doing quite demanding stuff on timeline but never. a problem for over a year all was working great same project. i think it comes from last tme updated premier, updated now to osx sonimia but still totally unusuable as of now..

a lot of litle thing s like this now most of them feature updates not even bugs. (why i am asked if i want to save on my computer?) My solution in case someone did not already post. solution; when new document dialogue opens , click once on the custom size to the right of clipboard size then click back on clipboard. hit return size is now correct.

Quality difference for me was pretty signifcant. I need the functionality of media encoder but ddint get any help/reply from Adobe so have no chocie but to move on and hope a new computer will fix the problem. Im still in transition so no more info im afraid. There are already several impressive functions in new premiere that dont exist for my old mac.

no solution, but its pretty scary, glad i caught it.. My 2013 mac pro is now too old to use latest editions of software i have the new M1 macair and will trying to transition to this for everything.

I have just noticed this issue trying to render a timeline from premiere . The tender from queue is clearly lesser quality than the direct render from premiere , both protests 422 and a h264 render have the same issue .

Very scary, i didnt know it was possible. suddenly noticed serious banding in my rendered video that went through media encoder that absolutely does not exist if i render direct from premiere.??? tried in different codecs , starnge and scary problem????

dont know if this is related but.. After changing a slew of things to fix a terrible premiere slowdonw. (Thats fixed) The image is now dfferent, posterisation has apeared in the image as if the footage lacks bit depth. colour is same. I have a master adjustment layer with a lumetri fx which has a creative LUT and a few further colour tweaks. I was right on the edge of what was possible with a dramtic colour grade but it held up fine for last year of work on project. 1.re-imported original vidoe files , stiil wrong 2.opened legacy copy of file, still wrong 3. imported a legacy (correct) rendered movie form the project into timeline looks normal. 4. rendered test from timeline, errors are in the rendered movie im using transcoded prorez 442 files any help apreciated is there

my project looks different suddenly. its as if theres a loss of bit depth in image,. colour is the same but posterizing, heavy blocking. pulling my hair out. I have an adjustment layer with a lumetri fx which has a LUT and a few colour tweaks. previous copies of project now have same problem. rendering the project has same problems. importing a previous render back into project looks normal on timeline

lumetri Colour on my long term project is suddely harsh and posterised. i have no idea why.? I rendered a section and the error is present in footage i reimported previous rendered (correct) footage and looks noraml in the timeline. i reinstalled the LUT I opened a previosu verison of file and ther error is present there too. i just had massive lag/crash problems with premiere and spent a few days chainging settings and deleting media caches. its back to normal ,except for this its as if the way premiere is interpreting the LUT is suddenly different? any help very apreciated.

Question ; will editing and rendering in premiere be substantially faster on a new fully speced M1 mac mini as opposed to my multicore 2013 trashcan pro? Now with rosetta and in future with dedicated M1 sorry if this is a basic question but I've spent hours searching net and so many mixed messages.. I understand M1 premiere is just beta testing.

This issue for me was eventually solved successfully by chat support and was indeed permissions based. However there were a few subtle differences that were not in the linked guide and I was unable to solve this just by following the guide and support was essential. Also Spent over a week going through chat technical support with technicians that either didn't know how to fix the problem or just disapeared.
