Did you send your dummied-up topic to Peter as a Classic topic or one that you already upgraded using your 2022.2 version? @Peter Grainge , maybe it's worth trying upgrading it with 2022.5?

So a new doc works; the old docs throw the error - right? And the same old docs on somebody else's machine don't throw the error - correct? If that's the case, then there must be something going sideways on your install/environment that's causing the failure in those old docs. Did you try the "Linguistics" trick mentioned above? Are there differences in the point versions of FM between you & your co-workers?

Yeah, that "errors" email has been out of commission for awhile - it's only useful for reporting errors to the programmers; no support is provided with that email. Use tcssup@adobe.com to ping the FM folks. However, is the error happening on a new doc? If so, then try deleting or removing your C:\Users\Your.Name\AppData\LocalLow\Adobe\Linguistics\ folder and restart FM. Your PDF creation methods are both using the same mechanism (Save As & Publish are the same); try Print to AdobePDF printer instance.

Not sure what you meant by "seems to have disappeared from my account" - your serial numbers should be in your Adobe ID that was used to purchase the software or through the Adobe Licensing portal (depending on the type of license).

So is it in a topic you're seeing them? Have a look in the source view of the output and look at the corresponding page in the FM source - that might give you some clues as to how they are appearing (and from where).

I think you mean that this is a separate RH project's output files, not the actual project XHTML files, right?

Sorry, when you say "separate project" my mind goes to a separate RH project, not some output someplace else. As long as the "separate project" files are always located in the same spot, then the method Peter describes would apply.

Ok, so it's present in the FM source - what's the problem with that topic when published? Your code chunk doesn't align with your image initially posted. What does that "Management" screenshot represent? The TOC?

Re: Cost - depends if your FM2019 version was subscription or perpetual license. If it's subscription, then you're already eligible to update any time on the plan. Perpetual licencing is gone now for FM2022 - it's all subscription going forward.

Not even sure you can build up multiple images inside this tool. Why not capture and paste each part into a plain Word doc and then re-capture the whole thing as one image?

I don't really know, but I've heard users of the latest version of RH2022 having issues with missing bits when creating CHMs. Running the old installer seems to restore whatever got dropped.

Wow - so sad to hear this news. I would have known earlier if this silly forum software didn't keep turning off my "Follow" instructions randomly. Klaus was an incredible resource here on the FM forum and in the prerelease program. I wonder if @Stefan Gentz knows the news.

How were the links configured in the Classic project? What point version of RH2022 did you use to do the upgrade of the Classic project?

Yes, major is the year part of the release version; minor is the patch level. So current [Nov 2024] major release is v2022, minor release patch 5.

Flip to Code view instead of Author view to have a look at the underlying XHTML - you might see some cruft in there that's causing it. Compare the RH2022 version to the RH2017 Classic version to see any differences in that source coding.

If you can reproduce the effect with one topic that's been randomized in a new cloned project, that should work fine.
