I've added a fade in and fade out to a clip. But the fade out is just liner from normal to black. Looks weak. I want to make it a more gradual fade at first, then accelerate. Anybody know how? Thanks

Found the simple solution. Instead of "Render" I'm supposed to click "Export and Share." When I click that it "saves" (in my own words) out the file as a video time lapse. And gives the results I was after. I thought Render meant to grab everything on the time line and save it as one cohesive video. But sounds like Render is more for creating preview videos of your work, rather than viewing your work in Premiere, where it might otherwise be choppy. (?) What does the term "render" mean? and how is it accomplished?

One note though. You say you're panning across a scene? A stabilizer effect really doesn't work well under those circumstances. Stabilizers work by identifying and object in the center of your video frame and then creating motion keyframes to keep it in the center, essentially. If you're panning, then you have no central image for the stabilizing to lock onto. Yes, exactly Panning across the scene. Well, actually I'm doing all kinds of shooting with the iPhone 6, and it's all jerky : P So it sounds like using a stabilizer in Premiere Elements is better, say, if you're running or walking and shooting something straight in front of you, that you're walking towards. But for panning or other shots you'd be best getting smooth footage with steadicam type device. Does anyone recommend a good steadicam type device that works with both iPhone and DSLR? Thanks

Hey guys, I've shot some slow panning footage by hand with my iPhone 6. I was trying to be all smooth, when rotating through the scene, but viewing it on the computer, it's pretty jerky. Do you think I need a hand-held steadicam type device to shoot smoother video? Or just use the stabilization in Premiere Elements 2018? Thanks!

Followed this tutorial: How to Make a Time Lapse Video Tutorial Using a DSLR and Adobe Premiere Elements 10 - Video Dailymotion I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements 2018 I imported 100 still images into Premiere Elements 2018 (taken from GoPro time lapse mode) I selected all images. Dragged all to Video 1 in time line. Clicked "Render" Only thing in the render folder is 100 videos of 00:00 length. Instead of one rendered video of all the images combined into a time-lapse video. What is wrong? How do you make a proper time-lapse move of still images in Premiere Elements 2018??? Photo attached shows the "rendered" output... Thanks

No, it will not work that way. You have to export if you want to trim and save the media. Ok. Thank you. And by export you probably mean rendering it out, which probably takes quite a while, right?

Hi all, I often have 2 hour + long videos where I just want to trim the first few minutes and last few mintues to get rid of any superfluous parts. I do not want to "edit" it and then render it out. I just want to "delete" the first few minutes, the last few minutes, and then hit save, and the video is done. No lengthy rendering times wanted. I was told this is called a "video splitter" and tried a couple of those programs. I have used Avidemux to do it with some success. But that's all it does (I think). Now looking for a more feature-rich editing program (hopefully under $150 USD) for Windows that will also do this video spliting as well as normal editing. Does anyone know if Adobe Premiere Elements will also do this video splitting? Thanks

is it a word file, that you place in Indesign or are you placing a pdf? It's an old InDesign file. All the text is in the file already. It was originally formatted to be printed as a paperback book. I've never used InDesign, but I have it installed. So I was asked to re-format this to be used as a PDF. Could you send a screenshot of your Masterpages? Attached below. With some extra text explaining them. Thank you.

InDesign. My first time using it. I just need to get this text centered, and export a PDF. Can somebody please help me? Legacy file, had been used for printing a book. I just want one PDF that flows properly - text and page number centered the same on each page. With the book format (two master pages) the left and right (even and odd pages) were different. Thus my PDF "walks" side to side as you scroll down through the pages. I reduced from two Master Pages to one. Applied that Master to all pages. It's still screwed up. Question re-worded in image attached. I can center the margins on one master page. How to get the text on all 210 pages to be centered within those margins? I hope it's easy for someone to answer. Two minutes later, I think I found the answer: Highlight one of the Master pages. Right-click it. -> Delete Master Page In other Master page, right click, Apply master to Pages... Click All pages. (click "apply to all") Click "Use master page size" Now all my pages are the same size and layout as one master page. Just asking the question somehow brought the answer. Thanks everyone.

Hi Everyone. I have a legacy InDesign file (from a publisher - in book printing format). I'm trying to make it one flowing PDF. With Page numbers and text centered the same way on every page. Right now, it has two master pages Left master = even pages, Right master = odd pages. I cannot get the page numbers and text to line up perfectly on both master pages, and thus even and odd pages the text and page numbers are placed slightly differently. (I am a novice, never used InDesign before... but have to get this one project done. Looks way too complicated to solve the centering issue for me. I tried. It's complicated, don't ask 🙂 If I could reduce the two master pages to one (either the left or the right) I will place text and page number "good enough" on that one Master Page, and it will at least be the same on all pages. Thanks rob day. I tried what you showed, but I get different results. Must be a setting somewhere I'm not aware of that keeps the padding the same? (I call it padding, sorry if that's the wrong term.) I have Liquid Layout rule set to off. But when I drag the transform panel's anchor I get two problems: 1) It also drags the text box area. The text area gets smaller too (want text box to stay the same size) 2) As soon as I let go of the mouse button after dragging to resize, it springs right back to its original size. Text area size being transformed as well: As soon as I let go of the mouse button, it goes back to this: Anyone know what I need to do differently, to achieve rob day's results? Looks like that would be much easier than copying every page into a brand new document. Thanks

Thanks for replying. You're absolutely right. It's considerably harder than I expected. But, I've learned a lot and I'm getting closer, following your post. It looks like my best option might be to create a new InDesign document to the size I want, and then copy and paste the text from each page of the old document to new document one by one. There's 202 pages. A bit clumsy, but hopefully can get there in the end. Unless there's any other thoughts? Thanks

Hi All, Sorry, noob question. I've been given this file, and never used InDesign before. I'm hoping some kind soul can please help me. This InDesign file was for a book that was printed. We want to change it to a PDF, to read on a phone or computer. But in book format, saved as PDF, there's too much space around the text, and the pages are offset as you scroll down the PDF. (see images attached). Then I found the "page trim" layer and thought if I could make all the pages match this page trim area somehow, then save as PDF, it should look good. Can anyone please advise me how I would do that? I tried moving the outer extents on the Master to line up with the Page Trim, but they go right back to their original size. And even when I do (temporarily) reduce the page's size, it reduces the size of the text area as well (ie the "padding" stays the same). Thanks
