TEMPORARY WORKAROUND: I found a free PDF reader to use while they work out this bug. I had to do something because it was cripping our business. Gaaiho Reader opens FDF files with no issue. We only use FDF for generating a printable form, so this may not be a good workaround for some. It was a quick install as opposed to jumping through hoops to revert Acrobat. At least we are up and running until I can go back to Acrobat when this is resolved.

I found that this applies to Reader as well. This is why it's critical that we can always revert back. Since we use fdf generated forms, this has nearly crippled our business. 7+ minutes to print a form rather than seconds.

I have no problem launching Acrobat from any source. I have no problem opening PDF documents with any method. I only have the issue when opening FDF files outside of Acrobat.

I do A LOT of calendars. I've found the easiest way is to draw your boxes for each month graphically, then place a text frame over the whole graphic on a new layer. Set your tabs and line spacing to align with the boxes. You will need a style for both 5 and 6 rows. Each year I select the text and strip all returns. Then I add or remove empty tabs at the beginning of each month so the first starts on the correct day. Then I run a GREP to apply a new return after every 7 tabbed dates. I can update a whole calendar in just a few minutes. May sample is a wall calendar. I do all sizes this way. The grid is just an empty table. That lets me quickly create a grid to any size I need. The small calendars are done the same way, but I arrange them in a column and export them as one PDF. That way I just slide the PDF up or down to reveal the calendar I need. I finish by removing the grid lines in the table where there are no dates.

I stopped using 2021 a long time ago because of this issue. I was hoping in time it would be resolved. Apparently not. I work with the same files and fonts in 2020 with absolutely no issues. I was able to recover most of my files by opening (converting) in 2020. 2020 has an issue with permissions on Windows 10. If the folder is open and sometimes if another program is accessing the folder you will get a corrupt file message. Perhaps there is a similar issue with 2021 that is causing true corruption, but I haven't been aboe to verify that or find another cause yet. You don't mention the operating system. That would be helpful to know if this is a Windows based issue.

The "File Corrupt" in an indication that there is a permissions problem. Make sure no other programs are accessing the folder you are working in and close the folder completely. Access it only through InD. Unless there is a specific reason to do so, you shouldn't be merging to a new document with such a large file. Merge directly to a PDF.

When trying to create a fixup to convert RGB to spot color, I get the following error as soon as I select the RGB (0 ...255) color model: Assertion failed in file ..\..\..\PRCObjectUI\_Imp\PRCObjectUIFixupGeneric.cpp, line #4253:"dynamic_cast<Control::EditFloatEx*>(ctrl)" . I get a similar error if I select Lab, it just refers to a different line number - 4257. This happens on ALL computers I have access to, at work, at home, and at friends and associates. All of these machines are Windows 10, so I don't know if it is OS specific. This function worked fine until an update about 3 or so months ago. Has anyone else encountered this error? For reference can anyone try it and see if you get the same error? Especially helpful to see if it's OS specific.

Try this (mentioned earlier): 1. Open Photoshop 2. Drag any jpg to the PS button on button bar to pin it 3. Right-click a jpg and select Open With > Choose Default Program Photoshop should now be one of the options to select.

Damian's workaround is on the right track. The font list will include any installed fonts contained in the document. The method I use is similar, but less steps:
1. Cancel the substitution dialog on document open.
2. Select any layer with the missing font and manually change to the font of choice, then save.
4. Select Type > Resolve Missing Fonts and the substitution list will include your chosen font.
