I replied this last year: For me all is good while "Run in AppContainer" is off. Makes half sense, because dictionaries are probably not in that container. Protected Mode can stay on. Does it not work for you with AppContainer unchecked?

Indeed, that works much better. I had a bit of a hard time figuring out how to apply that to text, though. Because apparently it cannot be applied to text. I had to "Type > Convert to Shape" first. Then swithch to the Path Selection tool, as seen in your screenshot. Sure, Photohop is pixel oriented. But then, why can I apply fractions to path strokes, and not to Layer Style strokes? Thank you!

Unfortunately, the smallest stroke thickness is 1px. I had to triple my image size to get the font thickness to a good size. Any good reason why fractions are not allowed here?

Another year later ... I pCloud properly working with LR yet? Currently I use OneDrive, which is working fine. But I'd like to switch to another cloud with more space and lower price, away from M$.

Thanks for your elaborate speculations. My main point is this: "not a word from Adobe" Speculations should not be necessary. If they actually care, why don't they just say how it is? Like "nope, not gonna do it", or "working on it, done next year".

That "UserVoice" is a dead end. Almost 800 votes, lots of angry comments, not a word from Adobe.

Sorry, I don't understand how you cannot understand the issue. Of course I only use one device at a time, and only PCs. And I am only one person. Why would I plan on having multiple users? In even more detail now: Step 1: I work at home. I use a desktop PC. Later I work in another room, where I use my laptop. That makes two PCs. These two PCs are activated. Step 2: The next day, I must work at the office. There is another PC, number three. This third PC is not activated. I cannot use my Adobe software. First, I must deactivate one of the other PCs. Then I can activate the third PC and work with it. In the afternoon I go back home - back to Step 1. But: One of my PCs it not activated anymore, so I must again deactivate the office PC, and reactivate the deactivated PC. This step is annoying and should not be necessary. This is the problem. It would not be a problem if it happened once per month. But currently, and this is where the crisis comes in, I must move more often. So one or two times a day I must switch activations. Why? Many other companies are now trying to make their clients lives easier. Because of the crisis.

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood. So let me explain again, so we get on the same page: 1. I can install on any number of devices - ok, no problem 2. I can activate on only two devices at a time - NOT ok, problem I have gone through the deactivation/activation process for years and it is a PAIN! Now I have to jump through that hoop even more often, because I need to switch devices more often. Meaning greater pain - and for what purpose? That I have the possibility to switch activation does not solve the problem, because the problem is that I have to do it at all. This is a health crisis, right, and the health crisis makes this old problem worse. And I just hope that Adobe cares and helps by providing just a small relieve, just for a short while. Costing them nothing. Show that you actually care about your customers and don't deny their problems.

I am glad you understand how things currently work and what the problem is. If you have any contacts at Adobe, or if someone from Adobe reads this, I hope they will consider providing a solution. If only temporary while the crisis lasts.

I understand that more licences are required for more users. My point is more devices, not more users. I regularly use three devices, at least now while I'm mostly working from home, sometimes in the office. So I have to keep switching devices on and off which is a nuisance. Probably not unusual nowadays, that people have a PC in the office, one at home, plus a laptop. Adobe wouldn't lose a penny letting us keep three devices active.

"Improved performance and stability" - Do you even believe that yourself? I'm so sick of that marketing talk. AI24 does not even start properly. Either hangs on a silly start up animation or crashes right away when trying to open anything. Support is friendly, at least. But slow and useless.

I wish I had known about this plugin years ago. It can do much more than just crop correctly. Thank you for the hint! I did add my 2ct to the report. Little hope that it will make any difference, constructive or not ... although, if you say Adobe is making an effort, that does give me a little hope. Thanks again.

Hi, I need the aspect ratio of some images to be 98:55. Yes, exactly that. But when I enter those numbers, LR automatically switches to 16:9 - somewhat similar, but not the same. How can I set an exact ratio and keep it? Thanks!

Meanwhile I have been able to uninstall and then reinstall CC - without trying to install any new C++. I used the Cleaner Tool to uninstall, it was not possible without that tool.

Thanks for sharing a bit of your wisdom, Nancy. I hardly ever get to edit the first file, losing my patience. Now, I thought, I measure it, launched DW with a stopwatch. Startup time seems to have improved since one of the last updates. After little more than half a minute DW looked like it was ready to open a file, totally acceptable. But when I tried to actually open a file, DW just disappeared. No error message, just gone. A few years ago, DW was my preferred web editor. Then I dropped it, at some point, couldn't get the debugger working. Earlier this year, the other product's license fee was due and I thought, since I'm paying for DW anyway, why not try that again. Didn't work out. I really like the looks of DW, the code split and Live view, and the other cool features I see in the marketing videos. So cool.

You say you saved two versions. Are both empty? Are they really empty (i.e. file size zero), or perhaps just broken? If they are empty, then, obviously, there's nothing you can do - unless you have backup. Since I totally hate doing anything twice, I have lots of backups. Windows has a feature to save versions of files, then I use Macrium Reflect and Crash Plan for regular automatic backups. There are lots of others, Acronis, Carbonite, ... Won't help you to get your files back now. Files will get lost once in a while, no way around it. But no big deal, as long as there's backup. Maybe check this out (my first hit after quick search): How to recover file data after a crash in Illustrator It's about Illustrator, but there may be a chance that Animate has something similar. EDIT: Then of course, if saving on cloud storage, such as Google Drive of Dropbox, those usually keep versions of your file that you can revert to if something goes wrong.

You may be right about the feature overload. But then, that would explain slow reaction times only. Not that it locks up completely for several minutes at a time, even when editing only a small file of less than 100 lines of basic html. Maybe there even are settings somewhere that can be changed to make DW faster or avoid lockups. If Adobe just let us know and shared their wisdom.

> Well, it seems to me obvious that when you post to the Acrobat Readers forum, that the problem is related to the Acrobat reader. May seem so. In my experience, many users do not know the difference between Reader and Acrobat. So i'm not surprised that the question ended up in the wrong place. As admins can you not move it, when you see it should be elsewhere? I am sure it is the locking mechanism. What I don't understand is why this seems to happen exclusively with Adobe products. I cannot remember to have had this with anything else. It could be because Adobe files are the largest I work with, and I save often. And just a minute ago I read elsewhere that someone has the problem only with Google Drive, not with other cloud storage. Workaround is to pause GD while working on large files.

Well, as I see it, it is actually the answers of AnandSri that are unrelated to to original issue, while the reply of Kaanapali is. The OP is obviously talking about Acrobat, not the reader. And trying to repair the installation will obvioulsly do nothing. Looks like a canned reply. I have the same error with various Adobe products, and as far as I see it, it's always related to Google Drive. While GD synchronizes files, they seem to get locked. But I cannot remember that it ever happened to non-Adobe files. Could still be Google's fault, I don't know. But you Adobe guys, I'd hope that you'd be able to find out.

If someone still has difficulties finding the "Toolbar"- it is not the one at the top, which is the filter bar, but at the bottom, below the image. It only appears in the library view.

Meanwhile, after yet another restart, it seems fixed. Still I need to manually recreate all icons. And (of course?) the application defaults are also broken. But that is an issue I had for years. Especially Photoshop - it never appears in the suggested application list for images ... But that's a different issue. Thank you all for your replies.

Ok, if I'm the only one who has this issue, I will have to try more of those Windows fixes. The suggestions in your link are for older versions of Windows. I have tried some of those things, especially icon db refresh with the Win10 version of it. But it is definitely not only an icon issue, it's the links that I don't get to work anymore. Anyway, thanks for your replies and suggestions.
