A white line of an image has appeared in Photoshop that moves around with the mouse, except when reaching the top line controls, but returns when I take the mouse back to the image. How do I remove it? I have tried reinstalling Photoshop but the outline is still there on all images, so it is not part of any image. I would take a screenshot but as soon as the mouse leaves the Photoshop page, the outline disappears. Please advise

Hi, Thanks for your suggestion: no unfortunately it doesn't. When I follow the path from settings to apps/defaults, clicking on the .jpg I get 8 choices: Chose an application for viewing a .jpg file Photos (recommended for Windows) Adobe Lightroom Paint Paint 3D Snip and sketch SoundTap Streaming Audio Recorder WhatsApp Just look for an app in the Microsoft store If I click on "Look in the Microsoft store", this returns the message: No results found There is no result for this extension

Following a recent Windows 10 Pro upgrade (late 2022) Photoshop is no longer shown as a default choice to open .jpg files. Instead the only choice in settings is Lightroom with 7 other apps but not Photoshop

Hi, I have done all of this, in fact the PS uninstaller didn't completely uninstall so I ran IObit uninstaller that usually does a thorough job, then I ran PS cleaner which was difficult at first as it needs winzip to do this, and I don't have winzip. Eventually I was able to open and run the cleaner, then I rebooted the PC and reinstalled PS. This time I got a new error advising that something went wrong, but that message has disappeared. Every time I try the installed help, I get an error message suggesting that I may need to reinstall the CC app. I have done this after uninstalling PS and then downloading the latest version but the error message remains. Please help

Hello everyone, My PC runs Windows 10 Pro. Photoshop CC has recently upgraded to version 19.1.4 and since then the option to save a .tiff file to .jpeg has disappeared in "save as". I would have attached a screen snip showing that the .jpeg option is no longer shown in the drop down but PS now prevents its use in PS. How do I fix both problems? David Dundas

Hi Bob, Thanks for your thoughts. I have looked at PS Elements in the past and found it to be too basic and the cost of the 2018 version is almost as much as a year of PS CC, so as I am running a trial PS CC which works fine, I will probably sign up to that.

Hi John, I have been rooting through my old emails and it seems that the link that I was given was actually to download CS6 and not PS7; CS6 did work under Windows 10. I understand that CS6 is no longer available from Adobe. I guess I have 2 alternatives: buy a serial number for PS5 (which my PS7 was upgraded from) and use it to install PS7 from the disc that I have, or give in and subscribe to the basic package of Adobe CC.

Yes I have the disk and I did download what I thought was PS7 from a link given to me, I assume I was given it because I was not able to use the installation disk as I don't have the disk for PS5 that it was an upgrade from. Maybe what I downloaded was a variation of PS7 or version that had a similar functionality? Do you know of any other free download, not a trial, that works like PS7?

Hi John. Its Photoshop 7 part No 28101613 which is 2002 on the box. I had it running on Windows 10 Pro for about 18 months before I had to wipe the drive.

I need to reinstall Photoshop (PS) 7 on my Windows 10 PC. It was working fine but I had to "restart" the hard drive with Microsoft help, to eliminate a trojan (low level format). I had to install PS7 in this PC when it was new about 18 months ago. I know that Adobe no longer supports PS7 but one of the Adobe agents gave me a link to their website where I could still download it; does anyone know that resource and the link?

Hi R_Kelly, Non of my drives are as big as 1 TB yet PS 7.0 cannot see them running under Windows 10 Home, so maybe there's a setting that allows it to see other drives? eg PS 7.0 is installed in c:\ and my data drive is d:\ which it cannot see for some reason. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi, You are right that Photoshop 7 does work with Windows 10, I have installed it and used it, so thanks for that, however it cannot see any drives other than c:\ so I cannot retrieve my images that are all on my data drive d:\. I could transfer them to c: but that would defeat the object of having all data on a separate physical drive to keep the system software on another. Do you know if Photoshop 7 could be tweaked to allow it to see other drives? Of course I could create a temporary folder on c: and transfer what I need from d: to c: but that's a bit awkward.

I need to transfer Adobe Acrobat 7.0 to my new PC. I have the installation CD and serial number but it was an upgrade from Acrobat 5.0 and I no longer have the installation disc for that. If I give you the serial number of Acrobat 7.0 can you let me know how to make the installation which presently fails, presumably because I need to instal Acrobat 5 first. I had thought to copy files from the old PC to the new one before running the Acrobat 7 installation; would that work? Please advise.

I have built a new PC with an ASUS motherboard, an Intel core i5 processor and 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, running Windows 10 Home. It replaces a much older PC running Windows XP SP3 which had Photoshop 7 and Acrobat Pro 7 running fine. I have been able to reinstall PS 7 in the new PC and it runs fine, but I have a problem with Acrobat 7 because it is an upgrade from Acrobat 5. Unfortunately I have lost the Acrobat 5 installation disc, so Acrobat 7 refuses to install. I have copied the old folder and sub folders for Acrobat from my old PC to the new one, but the Acrobat 7 disc cannot find the evidence of Acrobat 5. How can I tell the Acrobat 7 installer where to look for the Acrobat 5 folder and files?

I need to reinstall Acrobat 7 on a new PC. It is an upgrade for Acrobat 5.0 which is already installed. When I complete the ULA questions and the serial numbers for Acrobat 7 the installation is unable to find Acrobat 5 and the software does not offer me the possibility to direct it to the folder where Acrobat 5 lives. Hi R_Kelly You are 100% right. PS 7.0 will run under Windows 10 Home, and it now does this on my PC. I did have a problem because my PS 7.0 is an upgrade from PS 5.0 and I have lost the original PS 5.0 disc, so I copied the entire PS 7.0 folder on the old PC that I am retiring, into the Adobe folder on my new PC and then ran the installation of PS 7.0 which worked fine, so thanks a millionR_Kelly. PS 7.0 may be very old like me, but it works fine.

I have Photoshop 7 running under Windows XP SP3 and it works fine, so I don't need to have more recent versions. I have a new PC running Windows 10, so can PS 7 run under it? probably not, so I may need to run it in a virtual machine running Windows XP. I understand that perhaps it would be better to run CS2 which may be available to download free if I can provide the product key for PS 7. Please advise. [Asking in the correct forum helps... Hi jbm007, As I said in my post, Photoshop 7 needs to run under Windows XP SP3. Vista is a later version of Windows, so I guess I can't do what you suggest as you say that the Windows 10 compatibility option only goes back to Vista. I may be able to run Photoshop 7 in a Windows 10 Virtual Machine, however although this is supposed to be built into Windows 10, it does not appear to be in my Home version.

Photshop 7 works fine for me but I assume that it will not run on Windows 10 64 bit of my new PC. I do not use PS often enough to justify signing up to a rental plan, I would like to buy it outright but only need software that does what PS 7 does. What should I do?

Hi Jeff and Michael. I did a clean install of Windows 7 without migration of settings. I had my SSD partitioned with all the data files on d: so I installed a second SSD and copied them all across to the new drive and renamed the drives so the new one became d:. I did this to have all the space available on the first SSD to allow Windows 7 plenty of room to install. Apparently I could run Photoshop 7.0 in the windows XP mode of Windows 7, but to do this, according to MS, my PC processor has to have Hardware-assisted virtualization (HAV) capability. MS has a tool havdetectiontool.exe to download to test it, which I have done and unfortunately my PC processor is not up to it, so no Photoshop 7.0 on this one. Thanks for your help
