With a big document it can take so long to find things nested within layer groups, often you need to scroll forever. I often have more than 500 layers in a document It would be great to be able to put in bookmarks which would also be acessable via shortcuts to jump around the layer panel. These could be added next to the layer search bar, see attached Further more dragging a layer or group over the bookmark at the top would place this layer just above (or below if alt is held) Further to this it would be great if we could split the view of the layer panel into 2 so if there is 2 sections of a document that need work you could keep each part visible. Obviously it would also be great to be able to drag layers between these sub panels if needed.

Hi This is great, really useful i think. One thing that would be useful though is if applying a second time if the script could read the original size from the smart layer scale rather than assuming as soon at the script it run it hasn't been scaled already. To be honest the current function could also be useful so maybe a tick box taking original scale from current layer would be better

I know brush rotation can be changed with the left and right arrow keys but it baffles me why bust roundness cannot be adjusted with the up and down arrow keys I really do feel the brush system needs a complete overhaul with other apps much more capable on the ipad these days.

How would we amend this script so we could cycle through the colors either forward or backwards? I like the addition of the colors in 2024, there were needed, but hiding them in a sub menu is really irritating.

I originally posted on this forum as a several years ago asking for OCIO and ACES to be implemented as well as 32bit improvements, I’m happy you’re looking into it but at the moment the implementation causes more problems than it solves. I have few suggestions and questions for 32bit docs mainly workflow related Why do 32bit files take soooooo long to save still, especially on files larger than 10,000px which is pretty standard these days, 20,000px is not uncommon Why does Photoshop still not support multichannel EXRs without a plugin Dodge and burn tools are useless for a non-destructive workflow, please add all the missing blending modes such as overlay and soft light to 32bit documents Why do we not have decent tone mapping tools yet as an adjustment layer such as Reinhard or Filmic Tone mapping with shoulder, linear section and toe, (they do go deeper in BMD Fusion and Nuke) Further to my previous point why are curves so compressed in the working area, its almost impossible to make fine adjustments, can we have a secondary mode that remaps the curve to a more usable state A lot of these VFX programs allow people to make their own tools to create missing toolsets, surely at this stage with programs being far less locked down and the subscription model you’ve implemented you don’t need new features to drive in revenue the way you did before. Can you not allow people to make their own adjustment layers that can be distributed and installed in an open source manner similar to these VFX programs available. I posted last week and got some help which was greatly appreciated. I've since tried to make my script more universally useful. One key function is tripping me up and i can't figure out where i'm going wrong. I want to be able to type multiple words into my search terms field and the script find all of them then applying the extension rule and the latest file rule. I decided to try to make the script more universally useful so added a search box to choose which files are opened within the subfolders. Im struggling with the logic though. I want the script to search the subfolders and open files that match the search term, if the checkbox is also checked it only opens the latest file of the match search term. This currently works. What doesn't work is if i put multiple search terms in which are comma seperated. For example, a subfolder has x6 files in it, x3 with FG in the filename and x3 with BG in the filename. If i add 'FG,BG' to the search terms and check the 'open latest only' checkbox then 2 files should open from this subfolder. Im trying to write a script that i can point to a project folder. The script then populates a list with subfolders for me to select from. If the subfolder is selected it searches through the subfolder to open the latest .psb file with 'BG' in the filename. It does this for each of the subfolder selected in the list. I managed to get it to work selecting a single subfolder but as soon as i try to make it work with multiple subfolders it fails. It currently fails even with single subfolder selected The error i get is "Error: Selected subfolder is undefined." but no mater what i add to debug in visual code i get the same error. It seems like a missed oportunity to not be able to change a brush roundness with a shortcut. we can change size with [ ] hardness with { } rotation with left arrow and right arrow why not roundness with up arrow and down arrow and shift up arrow and down arrow for 10% changes??? I've tried but can't even add it as my own shortcut 😞

Randomly all pop-up dialogs stop being shown, it appears like PS is frozen but pressing ESC makes a dialog flash (appear then disappear) For example, if i have a document open and i try to close it without saving it PS freezes, it seems it just isn't showing the dialog saying are you sure you don't want to save. Pressing tab seemingly does nothing so i can't select no. If i press enter the file browser does show up so i can save files but i can't just close them. Obviously any other similar dialog also doesn't appear so i have to kill PS and reopen. This happens randomly, sometimes not at all in a day, other times a few times an hr. I have spoken to others with a Mac Studio and they experience the same issue. So its documented on both M1 ultra and M2 max. Im on PS 24.5, the latest version 25 is more unstable for other reasons.

Hi, i remember reading somewhere that you can disable and re-enable the gpu using a script whilst PS is still running. Maybe it can be used to help solve a problem i and several others have reported to me using a Mac Studio. Anyone know if this has been fixed yet? PS 24 has just been released but no mention of it in the bug fixes. Im still running 23.5 in Rosetta mode, i can't afford to loose work like i have previously so want to know the bug has been sorted before leaving Rosetta.

I've only been trying to save locally too. I've been running PS in Rosetta mode for over a month now and haven't come across the issue again so its definately a bug relating to the Apple silicon version. Strange it only seems to affect the M1 Ultra

It definitely seems linked to smart layers. I have an 8bit PSB document that is 5.63GB with multiple smart layers within it. If i rasterize all my smart layers the pause at saving 0% goes from 3mins 20secs down to a more expected 8 secs

I have the esame problem with these specs M1 Ultra - 128GB, 8TB storage Photoshop 23.2.2 Mac Montery 12.4 Wacom Intuos Pro M (PTH-651) I have various scripts i run which seem to be broken on anything past PS 23.3 I work on very large psb files ranging from 3 to 14GB and even when it does save it takes hangs for more than 3mins at 0% before it does start saving. It has failed and been stuck on 0% for more than 40mins though before i killed the app.

Thats great Davide, thanks for the answer, i've re-writen my CEP panel in UXP but i'm doing the unthinkable and lanching my jsx scripts with scriptUI interfaces from a UXP panel. I don't have the skills to re-write the jsx scripts. I hope they keep support for jsx and scriptUI in there for a long time to come. I'm fearful they will not though as you say.

Hi I have a series of scripts for my workflow which were developed a few years ago. I use a Mac and want to upgrade to the new Mac Studio. Will my jsx scripts that make use of scriptUI work on the native version of Photohop on Apple Silicon? I'm aware my CEP panel will not work but have re-written it to work with UXP. However, the functionality isn't availible under UXP to re-write all the scripts yet. Thanks

I see no banding in Photoshop 2020 which suggests it can't be a driver issue unless its the switch from OpenCL to Metal. With no banding in Photoshop 2020 but banding being present in 2021 and 2022 it must be how Photoshop is interpreting the file which surely suggests a Photoshop bug rather than a display driver bug.
