Do you know of an official source for a Windows CS6 download? I need to move CS6 from my Mac to Parallel Win 10 but cannot find my CD. I got a copy off the internet that runs OK except Adobe does not want to license it using my 100 year old Windows CS6 license key. I wanted to ensure it wasn't the software as oppposed to the key. It is possible to run it under Catalina:   Two ways to launch it: 1. Right-click on 'Photoshop CS6.app' then click 'Show Package Contents' 2. Navigate via Contents -> MacOS 3. Looks kinda pink on the Mac. When I look at it on the Virtual Machine Windows 10 on my Mac it looks correct. Evidently DNG is messing up the embedded jpg for viewing in Finder. I'll probably use DPP to generate tif files instead. They work correctly. ... View more

PSE uses .xml and LR uses .txt. Of course, when you import files into PSE it brings the keywords from the .xmp files or metadata in the case of psd & dng. Unfortunately, I have a huge structure so that means a lot of work to edit the imported keywords into a meaningful structure. My normal workload is .cr2 --> .dng --> .psd so really no change in using PSE. After importing my 15,000 raw files into PSE and looking at the results, I have decided that using the PSE organizer doesn't give me any benefits over using Bridge 2018 standalone (not part of Adobe subscription). So, I think I will use Bridge 2018 and PSE 2018 which will give me products that are kept current but do not require a subscription. I am not sure which feature you are referring to in your response? I have not yet added my files to the Elements catalog. I was going to build my keyword structure first. In LR one can import/export keywords from/to a .txt file. In the Export/Import Keywords from a File in Elements it is looking for a .xml file type. I have a fairly well defined keyword structure but it is .txt, not .xml. I assume that when I import my .cr2 files, the metadata in the associated XMP sidecar files will be loaded into Elements. In Bridge CC, select a file, then File/Open in Camera Raw. Bridge CS6 opens CR 9.1.1. Bridge CC opens CR CC once and eligible app has been opened at least once. Had I launched CS CC at least once it would enable using CR. However, what happens after one cancels their subscription? Will Bridge CC continue to open the Bridge CR module it has? ... View more

I have had a ticket open for a while -- not seeing a lot of progress though. I upgraded my laptop to CS5/LR3. It runs Vista. I am seeing the same issue on that machine as well. The switchboard process does not get started unless I first start Bridge. After that everthing works as it should. Two different computers, two different operating systems, two different user accounts and same problem. I am having a problem with the switchboard server on an XP/sp3 system as well.Since the switchboard server is not loading correctly, mini-bridge will sit waiting for CS 5 Bridge forever.However, Mini-Bridge still does start correctly if Bridge was started previously. I think I know why, but do not know how to fix it. The Adobe Switchboard service is suppose to load which leads to a switchboard process being loaded. The switchboard service does not load (error information below) and the switchboard.exe process is not started in the Windows XP run list when one logs on. Hence, mini-bridge has no switchboard to use to start bridge. However, if one starts Bridge first (even if one closes and exits bridge) the switchboard.exe process is started by Bridge. After that, mini-Bridge works correctly. I have attempted to start the process from a command window, but nothing happens and no event is recorded. Win XP -- I have done the things listed in the KB and Mini-Bridge works only if Bridge was started previously in the session (does not need to be active). For example, login, open CS5, click Mini-Bridge and get the waiting message. On the other hand, login, open and close Bridge, open CS5, click Mini-Bridge, and it works fine. I can close CS5 and right click the Quick Launch Bridge icon and click Exit Bridge, then restart CS5 and Mini-Bridge continues to work.
