I am curious about your aims and methods. What does a script generate? (I'm not into scripts.) What do you mean by "work awkwardly"? Whenever I create a new Export Preset and [ADD] it to the list of Export presets, the .lrtemplate file is saved in a folder like- C:\Users\{MyName}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Export Presets\User Presets Easy to copy and Paste these files to share with others. @jmorg65 Can I join the conversation?  The important part of that link statement you provided is "and synced from Lightroom-Classic". ie. for images you are seeing in Lightroom-Desktop, Lightroom-Mobile, or Lightroom-Web, that you have placed in a Lr-Classic collection that sync to the Lr Cloud. The simplist method I have seen is- -Turn off sync on the collection(s) you want to preserve. (Select the images) -Remove the (selected) images from the 'All Synced Photographs' special collection. This will remove them from the cloud, and clear the online space that was occupied by the images. -Re-sync the collection(s) which contain the images. This will cause a smart preview version of the images to be uploaded to the cloud.   If you have not set your NAS as the download location for cloud files in Preferences/Sync, then you will need to manually move files that were downloaded in the folder panel of Lr-Classic.     ... I agree that a Custom Page is not really useful for Batch printing many photos. I think I once achieved 12 pages in the Custom Package by repeatedly adding new cells, but as you find, I had to create each page independently and no way to autofill images.   You would find the Book module does an easier, if not perfect, job- 1) Design your book for JPGs (or PDF),  2) Create a Custom Page layout and save it as a Page Preset, 3) Edit an AutoLayout preset using your Custom Page. (Use same Custom Page on both left & right pages) 4) Using AutoLayout will then autofill all images on the filmstrip into multiple pages that can be saved as JPGs. Pros:  Easy with multiple photos. Cons: Need to decide how to 'Fit' or 'Fill' the photo cells with 'Landscape' or 'Portrait' aspect images. And AutoLayout will fill cells in the order of the filmstrip.       ... View more

Most major upgrades of Lightroom-Classic (eg. 13 > 14) require an upgrade of a catalog to work with the new LrC version. A Catalog upgrade always leaves behind a copy of the old "Previous Version" catalog in a ZIP file that (If extracted from the ZIP) will remain compatible with the 'previous' version of LrC. You should have seen this dialog- There is no reason to "open an old one" if the catalog upgrade worked correctly. All your edits and work will be in the upgraded catalog.    It can happen rarely that the upgrade process uses the wrong catalog, or even creates a new empty catalog, but you will still have the earlier catalog version somewhere in your system.  (I experienced an empty catalog once, possibly because my catalogs are on an external drive.)   If you extract the catalog from the ZIP you can [Double-Click] the extracted .LRCAT file to once again do a successful catalog upgrade, OR- If you insist on opening a previous version of a catalog, without a catalog upgrade,  you would need to downgrade Lr-Classic by installing the previous version from the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app that matches the Catalog version. A  "Previous Version" catalog in a ZIP file would be found in the same parent folder as the upgraded catalog.   Note: Catalogs are not renamed when upgraded. @Christophe50  Did you understand the (correct) answer I gave in this forum thread? If you move files in the folder panel of Lightroom-CLASSIC then the error message would be normally expected  ( [CMD+Z] will not 'undo' ). Edits stored in the Catalog will remain linked to the files in their new NAS location, (as long as you do NOT remove the images from the catalog). To "make a copy of them on an external hard drive" will require you to use a third party action (Finder, Time Machine, etc) to copy the files.     ... View more

I do not think you have the {Scripts} folder in the correct place. {Lightroom Settings} is not correct. It should be in- C:\Users\{YourName}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Scripts   Then you need to copy and paste the .LUA script file into this folder. Let me begin by saying I am not the guru when it comes to these syncing problems. I have never experienced this situation so my comments are just ideas gained from reading other forum posts .   If it worked before It may be worth trying the Sync to auto download into the empty catalog. But before you turn on syncing in the 'empty' catalog- Goto preferences > Sync tab and choose your destination folder for the downloads to the external drive so as not to fill up your internal drive. I do not know if you will have images available to develop in the catalog. You might experience the "File not found" error message as you don't have the matching original fullsize files locally in your computer.    As a last resort, if nothing else has worked, you might be able to Export the Cloud files and import them to a new Catalog.- 1)  In Internet browser goto Lightroom.Adobe.com  (the web version of Lightroom-mobile), sign in with your Creative Cloud ID and PW. 2) When your photos show in the grid- Select, and Download these to your local drive. *You will need space to download (any connected hard-drive) (Multiple files download in a zip file) *You can batch the downloads (eg. by only downloading an album at a time) *The files that download will be small versions of your originals (Smart Previews long edge 2048pixels) that may be <1MB each.   It is a sad lesson to learn if full backups have not been made for both Catalogs and Original camera files.       ... I willl attempt to answer some of your questions, but you are goint to need more advice- 1)  "a corrupt catalog"-  Usually means what is says, and rarely fixable. Restore from a backup catalog. 2)  "sync to the current catalog or another catalog"-  Lr-Classic can only sync one catalog. You can change the catalog that syncs, but better if you could find a catalog that has synced previously (if not corrupt), and that references your photos. Search in File Explorer for .LRCAT files or your catalog backups to restore from a backup catalog. 3) "My current lrc catalog/library is completely empty" - Suggests you have created a completely new catalog, possibly because of 1), and this would also invoke 2). 4) "I still have my thousands of photos in my lr cloud"-  And how did they get there?  Photos synced UP from Lr-Classic are NOT fullsize original photo files. They are only proxy (smart Previews) - So you will NOT have your photos in the Cloud. You need to locate backups of your photos where you store them in your local system drives. (Photos taken on iPhone, iPad  will be full-size.) 5) "Do I have to sync my existing photos"- Don't sync anything just yet  ('Pause' syncing with the Cloud icon) until you have located a working catalog (from backups) AND original photos (from backups) in your local system drives. 6) "Will syncing from an almost empty new catalog to the cloud remove the photos I already have in my cloud?" This gets very complicated.  If you don't have any original full-size files stored locally then there are only the small previews that I believe you can sync down from the Cloud.  And for details on this topic I best refer you to Dan Harford at SYNCING- Everything to know- Dan Hartford Photo     Summary- You need to locate a working Catalog (existing .LRCAT file or a catalog backup) that references all your photos. You need to locate all your camera files that are stored locally (known folder location or a backup drive). Let me start by saying- Lightroom-Classic was not designed for Cloud syncronization, and this hasn't changed. Using Lr-Classic YOU are the master of your camera files stored locally in your system ("Local Data") and indexed in your local Lr-Classic Catalog.   With the introduction of the 'Cloud' version "Lightroom", Adobe added some sync capability to Lr-Classic, but it is, and always will be, limited- namely- 1) Lr-CLassic will only sync proxy (Smart Previews) up to the Lightroom Cloud from files in a synced Collection. The Lr Cloud must not be considered as a 'Backup' for your original full-size files, and Lightroom-Classic cannot place them in the Lr Cloud storage. 2) Lr-Classic will automatically, and without being selective, download all and any files that may have been imported to the Lightroom Cloud ("Data in the Cloud") by 'Lightroom Mobile' apps (iPhone, iPad, Android, PC or Mac with Lr-Desktop).   If you are wanting to use Lightroom (Cloud version) as the 'Master' of your full-size photo files, then you have to accept that Adobe will store and manage the files in the Cloud. This looks very much like a problem sometimes called the "Capitalization error" where Lightroom gets confused between upper and lower case letters in a disk & folder pathway. A Disk drive can appear twice. Folders can appear in the wrong location. You must follow a specific series of steps to correct this problem. @JimHess  Try checking the Epson [Print Preview] to 'on' in the Printer dialog-  The preview might indicate if it is LrC creating the smaller 5x7 image, or if the printer is at fault. I also note your field for {Profile} under Color Management is blank- Are you letting the Printer color manage? I would expect to see "Managed by Printer" or a Paper Profile if LrC is managing color. I think you are "caught between a rock and a hard place." and you will have little chance of restoring a catalog without a system upgrade.   https://helpx.adobe.com/au/lightroom-classic/system-requirements.html Windows 10 (version 22H2)  is required for Lr-Classic. Do you have Win version  22H2 installed?   https://helpx.adobe.com/au/download-install/apps/system-requirements/creative-cloud-requirements.html Adobe will only support the current and two previous versions of Lr-Classic, so I would expect that a chat with Customer Support (asking for an older version) will not be successful.   If you were using the catalog with "Lightroom CC 2015" (ie. the subscribed version of Lightroom v6) AND you have a Serial Registration Number, then you may be able to install Version 6.14 that would open the catalog (Note that catalogs are not 'backwards compatible'.).
