Hi Aronis, Yes frustrating I know, having done many books in LrC and run into the same problem you have also encountered (and I still do). Try this workflow- 1)  Create a Standard Collection of photos (NOT a Smart Collection) 2) Select the photos in the Standard Collection and click on the top menu [Book] Module. 3) Apply [Auto Layout] so that the new book fills with photos (that can include the 'unwanted') 4) Immediately Click on the [Clear Book] tab. Now I think you will find that the images on the Filmstrip have now reduced to only the selected photos from the standard Collection. 5) Immediately Click on the [Create Saved Book] tab, and give your new book a distinctive name. Now you have a new 'Saved Book' that will show in the Collections panel with the tiny book icon and the name you gave it.   A couple of points- -There is no "online module".  Lr-Classic works locally. -MOST IMPORTANT!-  You MUST ALWAYS re-open your Book to make edits and changes by 'Opening' the  Saved Book Collection (as created in step 5 above). You can [double-click] the Saved Book Collection name, or [One Click] the white arrow that appears after the book name when you hover the mouse cursor over the name. -Do NOT use the top menu [Book] to re-open a previously created book. The Book module top menu  always starts a 'new' book. -Do not use the originally created Standard Collection again (delete it!).  If you want more photos added to the book, drag them onto the Saved Book Collection.   ... "I have a weird system where I import to the Apple Photos, then drag the photos I want to edit to Desktop and them import from there to Lightroom." As suggested by @richardplondon  check that you are in fact editing a raw file-type in Lr-Classic. Your problem might be that Apple Photos may only be showing you its preview JPGs ( that you are importing). FIrst let us establish which 'Lightroom' app you are using. This is the Lightroom-Classic forum so I suspect it might be Lightroom-Classic. Go MENU > Help > System Info...  and post the result in you next post. Now what do you mean by "update that folder again"  can you explain in greater detail exactly what you did? Is it possible you are viewing the 'Previous Import' file in the Catalog panel?  This will only show photos from the last import process. Can you view the folder in the 'Folders' panel? Aleke has given you a link about refreshing the Previews cache, but the grey previews need the original camera files available to be able to rebuild the Previews. Lr-Classic cannot reference the photo files in Dropbox (or OneDrive) unless there is a local copy that LrC can read. So where are you camera files exactly, and do your grid view previews show exclamation marks? (indicating 'Missing' images.) Do your folders in the Folder panel show with question marks?     ... Hi Markus, 1. No, you can't adjust a subscription for just two months, at least I don't know anything about it. Correct- Any extra storage to a "Lightroom" subscription Plan requires a (new) 12month commitment to the changed Plan.   2. Instead of converting a subscription, you can rent "1 TB of Creative Cloud File Storage" per month. TBMK Creative Cloud File Storage  is not the same as Lightroom Plan File Storage. The two are totally separate functions. So 'renting' extra Creative Cloud File Storage will not give any more storage for camera images imported to the Lightroom Apps. @mattheyr30306260  The question marks indicate that the folder, (with image files), is not in the same location that Lr-Classic believes it to be.  Several events can make this happen- A folder deleted, a folder moved, a folder renamed (even a change to upper/lower case), by not using Lr-Classic. First step is for you to locate the missing folder of images (using Finder), then in Lr-Classic correct the link by the [Find Missing Folder...] command. Lightroom, by default, opens an image as TIF when you choose [Edit in Photoshop]. To add the image back to the Lr Library you must simply [Save] and [Close] the image after finishing the Ps editing. @mattheyr30306260  You can use Windows File Explorer or Mac Finder to search your entire system for files that have the file-type suffix of ".LRCAT" .   LRCAT files are catalog files- their size and date may indicate the most recent version of the catalog. Hi @RIC.7  Your screen clip suggests you have Color Management set to "Manage by Printer"- This means the printer chooses the profile by the paper you have set in the Printer setup dialog. If you want to set the paper profile in Lr-Classic you need to change the option something "Other..." where you can select a profile, and you must turn off Color Management in the Printer setup.     ... The [Lr] badge is the Lightroom (Cloud based) app. Somehow your default app to 'open' your photo files has been set to "Lightroom".  'Open' a file with the [Lr] icon will show it in the Import/Add dialog for Lightroom. -Not what you want! Lightroom-Classic [LrC] cannot 'Open' image files so you cannot set it as the Default App for photo images (LrC will only 'Open' catalogs. .LRCAT).  In my system I have set Photoshop [Ps] as the Default App for all image files (JPG, TIF, NEF) thus they show with the [Ps] file-type icon. You need to reset the Default App for your images to be something other than Lightroom [Lr], either by going- [Open with] > [Choose another App] > eg. choose 'Photoshop' > Set to 'Always', or somewhere in Windows-10 there will be a way to set the Default App for image files (but it cannot be Lightroom-Classic!). Viewing your images in Lightroom-Classic will always be done by the Import dialog in Lightroom-Classic.   ps. You can set preferences in Lightroom-Classic to automatically show the Import dialog when a memory card is inserted so you can Import directly from card to computer and the LrC catalog without the intermediate step of copying to folders first. Then do your culling in Lr-Classic!  Using Embedded or Minimal Previews makes the import faster, and the Reject flag is a good way to decide images to cull.   ... View more

Maybe I cannot give an answer, but a couple of points  may help other give you help- If you click the 'cog wheel' on the Sync dialog- what do you see in the Sync Activity panel? What Folder have you set with the [Choose] button for the image File downloads? Is that folder available with full Read/Write properties? Do you see any files in that folder with File Explorer/Finder? Do you have sufficient disk space in your system for all the Cloud files to download?     ... View more
