If you don't have an absolute NEED to upgrade your OS, don't do it. My rule of thumb is, if all the apps work just fine the way things are, don't fix what isn't broken. There are too many compatibility issues that could arise, causing you to have to spend a lot of time sorting them all out. If you are referring to the somewhat "hollow" or "boomy" sound that I'm hearing (I don't hear anything other than that), it sounds as though you are either recording in a very small enclosure needing more sound absorption on the walls/ceiling, and/or your mic is located very close to a hard flat surface (like a copy stand) that is angled in such a way that it is reflecting your voice into the mic milliseconds after your voice has already entered the mic directly. As you suggest it doesn't happen all the time, I'll guess that it is the hard flat surface close to the mic, but that you either reposition the mic or the copy stand, which changes the angle of reflection, increasing or decreasing that boomy sound. ... Agreed: any input (keyboard or mouse) will affect only the foreground (active) application. And I should clarify: I don't know if there was any type of highlight in or around the search field until I'd tapped the spacebar several times. I then looked around the screen and, by that time, the search field was "illuminated" with the blinking cursor in it.   Again, this doesn't happen every time, but it seems to happen only if I've launched Audition by double-clicking a file. And, I don't hit any other keys or click anything before Audition actually opens and the waveform appears. I'm on a Mac, and was about to tell you that F1 does nothing in Audition, but then I checked the keyboard shortcuts and found that F1 is supposed to initiate Adobe Help... but it does not. I don't need it to, but it's odd that it's configured and doesn't work (other shortcuts work fine). Very puzzling. ... View more

Yes, on my Mac, when attempting to scan for plugins while I was still using Audition CS6, an Audition dialog box would appear with a message stating that dvaaudiofilterscan had failed (or something to that effect) for some reason. It's been some time since that last occurred, and I'm now using the latest version of CC, and plugins have been successfully loaded and enabled. The reason I mention it now is because I was checking on apps requiring network connections and dvaaudiofilterscan was still in the list and enabled. ... View more
