Hi
It would be really handy to have the vertical adjusment slider active when you pick middle middle, because selecting bottom middle and moving it up with the vertical slider doesnt go up high enough.
Anyone else would find this handy?

Hi When you over crop an image you have transparent sections outside the image. when you export these as JPG, understandably it fills that with a colour (as JPG cant do transparent), but it always uses white. Is there an option to make the default another colour, ie black. saves extra work thanks

Hi I am ued to copying layers to other open PSD files (drag and drop), but how can you do it so the layer you are dragging over stays aligned exactly in the other PSD file. At the moment i drag it over then manually have to align it so it sits exactly onto of the one ive dragged it onto. Maybe theres another way instead of dragging and dropping? Thanks

Hi Sorry cant find the answer online. Photoshop 2023 (MacBook) My PSD file has nine layers. Each layer is transparernt with one little object on it. Each layer is full canvas size, so there is alot of 'nothing' on each layer. Therefore the layer preview thumbnails all look the same> So i want to crop each layer right down to the little object on that layer. But when i crop a layer, it changes the canvas to the size of the crop. I dont want to change the canvas. I just wnt to get rid of the dead space in each layer so that i can actually see the objects in the layer thumbnails. I realise that might sound confusing. Even if i marquee around part of a layer, then cut and paste it back in to a new layer, the layer thumbnail hasnt zoomed into that area i marquee'd. Am i going nuts? Thanks for any help Simon

After some further research, i see that the clipping overlay (red) happens when any one channel hits the 255 value (and the triangle indicator in the historgram indicates the channel colour (either R, G or B) or triangle is white when all three hit 255... somewhere in the red overlay area. At least i know now whats happening, thanks for getting me there. so for me to see an overlay that is indicating pure white (as i need pure white backgrounds sometimes) i can only rely on the photoshop action i setup to make a layer with a 255 'blend if' property As this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iwp6jg8g5xo

Thanks for the reply, but the image is unedited and only an example of clipping. The eye dropper is no good for a quick glance of what is clipped. im ony interested in how clipping is displayed in CWF. If it is meant to show pixels that are under 255,255,255 then so be it, but that wasnt my understanding (which is probably wrong so it seems). Lightroom also gives you a slightly different pattern of 'clipped' pixels, also not showing (clipped) pixels that are just 255,255,255 Any pixel with less than 255,255,255 has a colour in it (albeit very close to pure white) So i guess 'clipped' pixels (red overlay) just doesnt mean pure white.

it sounds like it is, but ive gone to Camera Raw preferences in photoshop and colourspace is set to sRGB, which is the same colour profile the image is in, in photoshop (as far as i can tell?) and it still is happening.

Hi Ive only just noticed that when in Camera Raw Filter from photoshop (24.0.0) when i look at the highlight clipping (red) its not actually using 255,255,255 is pure white for clipping like i assumed. I know this as i have a colour on the screen which is 250,251,255 and CFR is telling me this is highlight clipped. I only need to know pure 255,255,255 for clipping, how can i change this? No wonder when i setup Photoshop to show clipping for pure white, the results were different to CRF> Hope that makes sence, Thanks for any explaination.

Hi Using lightroom classic (Mac) 11.2 If i syncrhronise a folder inside my Pictures folder, it works as expected (ie i put 3 new images in a folder, and the synchro tells me 3 images will be imaported. But IF i synchronise the root folder called Pictures, it aleways finds thousands of pictures and takes ages to complete (ie import and build standard previews) Even if i synchro the pictures folder again, 2 mins later (without doing ANYTHING else) it still finds thousands of pictures and the process takes just as long. Im not sure what im doing wrong here, as its been like this for ages ive just put up with it, till now Thanks Simon

RE: lightroom C (10.4) export presets How can i delete the preset lightroom export presets (ie 'for email, 'burn full size') i only want the user presets. Also if i tick my user presetm i cant adjust it, its all greyed out. I need to adjust it as sometimes i move the watermark left or right, and no i dont want 10 presets all the same except a placement of the watermark Thanks for any help

Final report. (if anyone is still folowing this). I swapped the USB cable on the CF reader that might have been causing th issues, re imported into lightroom, and they all seems fine. So potentially was a dodgy USB cable all along (as you said it might be) Still interested to hear back on the Embedded Preview button i have that no one else seems to have, maybe its a mac thing.

OK cant get the CR2 file attached. But ive just tried an old usb 2 card reader (as you suggested to try), imported into lightroom, not one corruption!! So looks like it was the card read then!!! even though it was strange i can use it fine without lighroom. Anyway, hopefully thats the problem. sorry again.

OK, heres the latest and ill attached the RAW for this one. No matter what i do in lightroom, the file gets corrupted, weather its imported via lightroom, or just copyed from the card via Finder and Synced in lightroom, its get corrupt looking in lightroom If i forget lightroom, and never use this image in lightroom, but i do use it in Photoshop, its totally fine. Ive attached screen shots from lightroom and one from card to photoshop (without ever using this image in lightoom) And ive attached the raw file (that has never been touched by lightroom) When i took all the images, non of them looked corrupt on the back of the camera, never. grrr the forum is deleting my CR2 file upload., with "Correct the highlighted errors and try again.The attachment's img_0039.cr2 content type (application/octet-stream) does not match its file extension and has been removed." Sorry to be a pain, but this is fustrating. Help appreciated.

Something else to add. Ive tried importing them with all different options as in 1:1, standard, embedded ect, all options cause diffrerent corruptions on different images, no pattern. Ive synced the folder where i used finder to copy the images from card to SSD and that folder has no errors visible in lightroom.
