I tried dust removal just now on a b&w negative, raw file shot with mirrorless camera. I opened the file via LR, so it would have my adjustment to positive, and then in PS went to Camera Raw. I enabled dust distraction removal, and got "no dust spots were found in this photo," despite some obvious dust, see screenshot. I wonder if this is mainly/only intended for sensor dust, or potentially also for film scans?

I just tried moving a folder (within LR Classic, not in Finder) from my internal drive to an external drive. It's a large folder, with more than 2,000 images. After a while I got an error message, something like "LR could not complete folder move." The folder still exists in folders panel for internal drive, with 0 images. The folder also exists in the external drive (within LR folders panel), with most, but not all of the images. I do have backups, so can find the missing images. But this makes me realize, I should always keep track of the number of images in folders before moving, to make sure they're all getting moved. Any advice on avoiding this in the future? Is 2k plus images too big to move inside LR? LR Classic 13.0.1 MacOS 14.1.1 MBP

Issue 1: paper source popup vanishes. LR Classic, I click print settings, dialog box opens. Click on printer options, then printer settings. The paper source popup, which allows choosing front fine art feeder from P800, has vanished. See screenshots: one shows paper source popup, the other shows it's missing. (This issue ocurred while troubleshooting issue 2; I created a new Mac user, and noticed paper source was missing, so I went back to original Mac user account to take screenshot of dialog box showing paper source, but minutes later paper source popup disappeared.) Issue 2: My presets don't stick, once I close the print dialog box in LR, and then open it again, it always reverts to premium glossy paper, with high speed and finest detail checked. I've tried creating new presets with different settings, but it always goes back to this. I've tried deleting all presets, and setting preset popup to "default" but the same thing happens. I can select fine art paper, change settings, but once I close dialog box, and right away or later open it again, it's back on prem gloss, with high speed and finest detail checked. I think it reverts immediately: I recently made a matte print that was blotchy, I think it was getting the glossy media settings. And I've been making Epson matte prints with this printer for years, I'm experienced with color management, profile/media settings, etc. LR Classic 12.1 MacOS 13.2.1 Using Epson SC-P800 Series driver, v 12.6.2 I've tried deleting all Epson printers, reinstalling using latest Epson driver. Also, I trashed as many Epson prefs files I could find in Library and user/Library. Restarted printer, restarted Mac. Created new Mac user. SOLVED: I created a video group, added my layers to it, and now I'm able to move clips from one layer to another. PS 23.4.1 on MacOS 12.4. Using video timeline. When I try to move a very short clip from one layer to another, for animation, I'm unable to do so--the clip at the target layer jumps to another layer, PS doesn't seem to want me to have more than one clip on a timeline layer. After selecting the move tool, I can see that "auto select" is unchecked (I've also tried checking it). I don't have any layer groups yet. No layers are locked.

I was experiencing this too; very frustrating. Every single time I launched LR I get two prompts to enter admin password, screenshots below. I just solved the issue (I hope; so far so good) by deleting the 2 chromium items in my Mac Keychain Acces app. LR 11.0.1, MacOS 12.0.1.

I did get this issue resolved via Adobe support, but it took many hours, and 2 sessions with support person logged-in to my Mac remotely. I wish I could tell you how to fix the issue, but I don't know, the process involved disabling Creative Cloud, trashing many different Adobe files, re-installing, etc. And before I got to the remote support steps, there were numerous other chats with Adobe support where they asked me to try many different things. It was a very long and tedious process but did ultimately result in video rendering now working with PS.

I don't remember this happening in the past; with a photo open in Library or Develop module, when I switch to Print module, I see a very distinct color shift--colors get desaturated. I do not have soft proof checked. The issue seems to be intermittent. I don't think it's showing me a profile preview--if I switch color profiles under color management in Print module panel, I see no color changes. Anyone know what's going on? Not sure if this is a bug, or I'm somehow getting a soft proof view? ETA: If I open a photo in Develop module, and check soft proof, I also see the shift when switching to Print module. I'm creating an animated drawing with video timeline, using single frames on same video track as in this tutorial. I'm drawing a line that gets longer. So draw a bit on first frame, then copy and paste that frame so it follows the first frame, and then I can draw extra length without re-drawing the entire line. The issue is that when I copy and paste the frame, the line moves to a new position on the canvas, I think it moves the line to the center of the canvas. Anyone know if there's a way to cut and paste like this, while maintaining the original position on canvas? Screenshots show first frame (line in upper corner) and that frame copied and pasted as second frame (line in center).

This issue is finally resolved, after many support sessions with Adobe. It had something to do with a previous installation of Photoshop, a file deleted by support person while logged into my computer (I don't know the specific file.)

This issue persists through several PS versions. I've spent hours with multiple Adobe support people trying to solve it, and no luck. Very frustrating. Tried uninstall and reinstall PS, allow full disc access, and lots of other troubleshooting steps. Many, many troubleshooting steps have been tried. Anyone else still having this issue, that goes back at least to 2018? My system specs:

Update: I got this working...one issue I think is that my catalog has over 800k images in it, and apparently there was a very long delay after I selected "hide parent" when I thought nothing was happening. So "hide this parent" for Volumes and / seemed to do the trick, and allowing several minutes to elapse after doing that each time.

My startup/internal drive is showing properly in my LR catalog: a bar with online indicator (green when online). But my external drives are showing as subfolders of the internal drive. When I right-click on the drive folders, I don't see an option to "hide parent" or "promote subfolder." Screenshots attached; second one shows contextual menu when right-clicking on drive 4. I've tried "update folder location;" no dice. I do see "hide this parent" when right-clicking on top-level "/" directory, but choosing that option doesn't seem to change anything. Any ideas on how to have those drives show properly? Mac OS 10.15.7, LR Classic 9.4.

Tried to delete this post, but clicking on "...more" doesn't show any options, only a thin window, see screenshot...I tried Firefox and Chrome. Mods, feel free to delete this post/thread. Hmm, actually, just realized "use graphics processor" was unchecked after Adobe support session for unrelated issue; maybe that was causing gray issue. And color/brightness shift may not be an issue.

Just updated to PS 21.2.4 on Mac. Tif files are turning completely solid gray sometimes after opening in PS. Anyone else experiencing that? Also got a major color/brightness shift with a TIF I opened, made a minor edit on, and saved (it's srgb, shift shows in LR and in Mac Finder). Here's what I've tried, nothing has worked so far: reset preferences downloaded PS 20.0.10 (suggested by support staff) changed prefs to memory usage: 78%, unchecked use GPU ensured that PS has full disc access, sys prefs: security: privacy created new Mac user account, ran PS from there

Thanks for the reply, lambiloon; interesting that page does mention my issue, but fix is to update to 21.x, which I've done. There is also a security/privacy setting for earlier PS versions, and I checked that to make sure that PS has full disc access on my Mac, which it does. So still looking for solution.

Hmm, I still can't get the patch tool to work, and content-aware fill remains grayed out for me. I assume this isn't a bug since JJMack can get those to work. I'm wondering if I should contact Photoshop for support? Or report a bug?

Thanks for the reply JJMack. I've used a lot of techniques for patching nadirs, including the ones you mentioned; right now I'm just trying to determine which tools work and which don't in 3D/sperical mode, and/or if there's a problem with my system. For me, patch tool is not working in 3D/spherical mode. I draw around hole with patch tool, "content aware" selected in patch mode, and drag, and nothing happens. In non-3D mode patch tool works well. And when I lasso an area, content aware fill is grayed out. Anyone have any idea why these aren't working for me? Screenshot of system specs below. I'm retouching 360° spherical panoramas by going to 3D: spherical panorama: new panorama layer from selected layer. I haven't been able to get the patch tool in content aware mode to work, and also haven't been able to get content aware fill to work. Are those tools not compatible with spherical pano editing? Are there other tools that won't work in this mode? I found this Adobe help article that mentions healing brush, but doesn't mention other tools.

ETA: Just noticed the effect popup at top of adjustment panel, where I can choose "temp" to only adjust temp slider. I've used adj. brush a lot in the past, but never noticed that popup which allows selecting only one parameter to edit. This solved my problem. Trying out the new hue slider for adjustment brush. I have a portion of my shot that is blue from daylight (most of the frame is tungsten lit). So I want to use adjustment brush to warm up the blue section. I'm having trouble accomplishing that with hue slider, even if I reduce saturation. I can make the correction with the adjustment brush temp slider, but how do I disable the hue slider, or make it neutral? It is adding unwanted color.

Is a year too late for a reply? Todd, thanks again for all your help with this; the issue hasn't been coming up for me lately but it did just come up again with a current project, so I came back here to referesh my memory on what was discussed. To answer your question (below): I use 12mm, because that requires only 4 shots around plus a nadir shot (for a spherical 360° pano). At 15mm, you need to shoot 5 shots around, plus zenith and nadir shot, IIRC. So 12mm is more streamlined for shooting and post-processing. "A better solution is to set the Canon EF 8-15mm F4L Fisheye lens to 15mm, which will create 180° diagonal full-frame images without dark corners. Panorama image file sets shot with the full-frame 15mm setting should not exhibit any of these issues. Is there a specific reason why you are using the 12mm focal length?"

Photos attached. Image shot raw/.arw with Sony A7RIII. Viewing the photo in LR, at 100%, there are artifacts, they remind me of jpg artifacts--see around the letters. From LR, I opened image in PS (right-click on image, select edit in PS). In PS at 100% it looks fine, I don't see the artifacts. Any idea what's going on? I tried rebuilding 1:1 preview, quitting/restarting LR, and converting file from .arw to .dng, but issue persists. LR Classic 9.2.1, PS 21.1.2. Mac OS 10.15.5. 2019 Macbook Pro. 100% in Lightroom Classic 100% in Photoshop

I'm also experiencing this, on a Macbook Pro. When I go to export: render to video, progress bar almost completes and then hangs indefinitely. At first I didn't consider it a bug, because I figured single photo slideshows wouldn't be considered, but I agree with you, I think it is a potential bug. There are reasons to make one image slideshows, if you want to export one jpg with a border or with metadata overlay.

Sometimes I use slideshows to export jpgs with border, or with filename overlay, via option/alt-clicking on "export pdf" button so it becomes "export jpg." This works fine when I have two or more images selected, but when I have one photo selected and I export jpgs from slideshow, my entire filmstrip gets exported (even though "use: selected photos" is visible, and it says below that, "1 selected." If I create a new collection with only one image, then I can export just the one, but I'm wondering if there's a way to export a single jpg from slideshow module without creating a new collection. I'm about to make a tutorial, and want to make sure I understand this properly.

Thanks John; I just added a comment to that thread and clicked on Me Too and Follow. Unforutnately deleting the helper.lrdata associated with catalog in question didn't clear the suggestions. Deleting preferences also didn't work.
