I was an Adobe Certified Expert in llustrator and other Adobe apps for years as well as an Adobe Certified Instructor. I took and passed those tests numerous times over the past 20 years or so.
Which Adobe Illustrator Certification Exam are you referring to? I don't think any of the Adobe Cerrtified Expert Tests exist any more. And Adobe ended the Adobe Certified Instructor program as of December 31, 2023. (My opinion: Huge mistake Adobe!)
I know the Adobe Certified Professional test are still available. I believe Certiport is very involved with Adobe on these tests. Ã…nd as part of Pearson, Certiport is extremely reputable and a great choice for any Adobe Certification prep.

Definitely a bug! I've seen a variety of color shapes unrelated to the design randomly appear on my Mac on occasion. If you scoll the affected area off your screen and back on the screen, it will force the layout to redraw and all goes back to normal. Until it happens again.

You may want to Place the Table from word into InDesign (File > Place).

Have you checked to make sure you don't have a Character Styles applied to the whole paragraph in the paragraphs that are not updating?
Character Styles should never be applied to whole paragraphs. And you've just discovered why.

@Bill Silbert! Bill and I have known each other for over 50 years. We met at Pratt as Freshmen and have been close friends ever since. What many don't know is that Bill and I learned Adobe Illustrator together in the late 1980s. Before Bill had his first computer, he used to drop by my office to play with this fairly new application called Adobe Illustrator 88. In no time Bill was doing great work in this new application and it was not long before he was working at an expert level.
Nice article about a great friend!

I'm not sure, are you referring to Editing your Menus (Edit > Menus)?
If yes, please provide the information Derek Cross and Rishabh Tiwari asked for. And try Bill Silbert's suggest of Deleting Preferences.

Is it possible that you have Multiply (or some other Blending Mode) applied to the Text Frame in the Effects panel?

Have whoever you're working with, Package the InDesign file (File > Package). That way you will be using exactly the same fonts that they are. Hope this helps!

We do not have enough information to answer.
What Operating System is your computer using? What version of Illustrator are you using? Have you opened this file recently? Do other Illustrator files open?

Take a look at the Effect "Roughen" (fx > Distort & Transform > Roughen) applied to the Type object in the Appearance panel. Make sure the Size percent is low (1%) and Detail at 4 or less.
Hope this helps!

Hi David,
I'm not a scripter either, but I use the Scripts that come with InDesign and others amazing Scripts that I've downloaded all the time. I use scripts to do things that would take a lot of time that can be completed in seconds using a great Script.
A great example is Calendar Wizard. You can set up a calendar with holidays in seconds. Great script: http://calendarwizard.sourceforge.net Can't imagine how long it would take to create a 12-month calendar with a variety of holidays.
We don't know the purpose of the script the OP wants. But if it takes hours to figure out a script that saves five minutes, why bother?

OK! I guess I'm really comfused by the OPs question?
Why would you ever need to find a Pareagraph Style that's never been used? The only thing I can think of is that you set up a TOC and then deleted it.
Any thoughts?

You do not need a script tp find instances of a Style. You can use Find//Change (Edit > Find/Change) to find formatting or a Style.
Open all your Book documents.
Go to Find/Change (Edit > Find/Change).
In the Text Tab of the dialog that opens, click in the Find Format section.
Select the Paragraph Style to find,
Make sure you're Searching All Documents.
Press Find Next.
InDesign should find the first use of your TOC_B Style immediately.
Hope this helps!

I also thought about using a Fade In Animation for each object with Buttons controling the Fade In of a different object on page 10. No dice! Can't drag any Action under Go to Page. Weird!

Hi Bob,
I thought that as well. So I tried to drag "Go to State" under "Go to Page," but it won't let me do it.
Best,

Hi Bob,
I just tied it and the Buttons panel did find the MultiState Object on page 10, but does not go to the right State.
Weird!

Jeff

Hi SiCrit
I believe Buttons will only go to the State of a MultiState Object that's on the same page or spread.
You may have to use the buttons to go to separate pages instead.
OR Is there a reason the MultiState object has to be on a separate page. Create a MultiState Object that covers your entire page with an "invisible" State. Do this by drawing a rectangle with no Stroke or Fill thst's on top on top of your other other objects. When you create the MultiStae Object, this top rectagle will be the default State. So everything on your original page will be seen.
Now, you can make Buttonns that go to individual States. If your MultiState covers everything underneith, no one will know they're still on the Same page.
Hope this helps!
Jeff
