Hey man, I'm a graphic and user experience designer. Nothing is fake, and I believe what I've said.  Many times I wanted to quit my job as a graphic designer. No matter what computer I get, I feel that I'm slow because of Adobe's applications. It kills my time and speed, energy and confidence. (Please don't be one of those experts that say to use Adobe applications as a solution) The challenge would be great for Adobe's UX designers. Willi, As far as I know, there is no solution because the structures of the two software are completely different. Copy and paste CC Library assets and Symbols assets do not work, between this two software. For now, we have to work with only Illustrator if we want to work with CC Library or Symbols and split the pages into  10 to 15 files. ... View more

Thank you, Willi, There is no Symbols panel inside the Indesign to work with. CC Libraries is what I've been talking about.  I'm working with Adobe applications for more than 23 years. Let's back to the main problem: We can't copy and paste our assets which are inside the CC Libraries panel from Illustrator to Indesign or from Indesign to Illustrator. It breaks the links from CC Libraries when you copy from one Illustrator to Indesign. You may ask why you need to do that. you can just insert your assets from CC Libraries again. I would say it is not possible because we have around 70 graphic and color assets inside the CC Libraries,  and we use them in different places like T-shirts, brand collateral, and other things ( it can be up to 300 items) that can't be designed in Indesign. We have to design them in Illustrator, but in the end, we need to bring them into Indesign to make a Brand Guidelines. A Brand Guidelines can be 30 to 200 pages. This is my experience...  After doing everything that people say. the spinning ball appearance again and again... I turned off my internet, it seems it helps. This is what I do to have fewer spinning balls. 1. Open your Activity Monitor 2. Search "Creative" 3. Quit everything that is Creative as soon as you see it. This works for me so far. I know the first post was in 2012, but it was my question until an hour ago. If the maximum number of page per sheet is 16 and you have a mac, follow these steps: 1. Export your InDesign file to a PDF file. 2. Open your file with the Preview app (Not Acrobat) 3. Click on preview(#1) and select Layout. 4. Select the number of pages (#2) 5. Save your file. (#3) 6.   Thanks George for your help Question: Is running slow only on this file or on all of the files even empty? Answer: I only work on a project with Indesign, which has more than 600 pages. Doring working on this project Indesign crashed 3 to 4 times, but my file is not heavy (only 57 MB). I don't know about other files, but if you give me a file I can report to you if I face the same problems.   Solution #1: Do indd -> idml -> indd I did this approach a few weeks ago. It only helped for a few days. I will do it again.   Solution #2: Troubleshooting Weird InDesign Problems (101 error new) I did this approach too, a few weeks ago. It only helped for a few days. I'm not sure if I have to do this every week. After facing the same problem again, I was asked to do these (a few weeks ago) and I did: I set up a localhost printer as a default printer. I deleted many fonts I had. I reduced the resolution of my display to the default. I changed my color display profile. I stopped Adobe cloud activity.   InDesign Version 16.1 --- I'm not able to share my project file. but I did a screen recording for about 3:30 minutes that I can share privately (280 MB) with you or a professional Adobe employee. --- My latest experience What I understood with the latest update of  InDesign (16.1) After closing and opening InDesign, it allows me to work on my file without pains. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I've tried many solutions. Adding a new printer as localhost, removing my printer, turning off my printer, erasing the cache, deleting my profile, preferences, rebooting, deleting applications, and reinstalling them. OMG. What I'm saying is not easy to do! They work for a week or a few weeks and then the same problem again and again.
