Unfortunately a Gradient's colors can't be controlled by expressions.I would like to control 'm.
The first keyframe is set by clicking the stopwatch icon. Other keyframes are set by changing values. But what if you need a keyframe maintaining the current value? You can go tho the Animation menu and choose it from there. But for speed sake, I would like to click the stopwatch again to set a keyframe, e.g. with a modifier key. [When I had to decide, I would rather the remove all keyframes function be less accesible (its done by clicking the active stopwatch), and put that in a menu...]
Hey peepz, in After Effects, expressions currently can’t reliably switch between font styles (e.g., Medium vs Bold) inside one text layer. A feature that lets expressions address specific font styles (or PostScript names) would greatly improve template workflows and reduce extra text layers. Thanks!Mischel
Please add ability to preview each typeface using the arrow keys or a shortcut in After Effects. Thx.
very simple and i have no idea why this isnt already a thing, premiere pro can do it yet the motion graphics software that actually requires it doesnt? if im using the rule of thirds i also need to make sure i dont go out the safe margins
PLEASE I NEED IT ON MY IPAD.
Hello.I created a Mogart. And I tried to animate the properties in premier. And I saw no watch for making keyframes.what prevent these properties to be animatable? It will be very usefull and handy if they can animate the properties in premier.Thank you.
So, can the Colorize neural filter be brought into either AE or Premier? I do a lot of film transfers that people would like colorized, especially color film that's badly faded. In Photoshop it works miracles for single images. Need to make that work in motion. Could do it frame by frame in Photoshop but that would take forever, and wouldn't necessarily be consistent. This tool should be in AE or PR, by my estimation.
Please make it like a reveal on flowchart feature when you right click a comp or a image or a solid, much more intuitive them reveal in composition in my opinion
I have one of the fastest possible computers, video renders nearly instantly, yet the audio sounds like it's being played back on a vintage 1940s turntable, slowing down and speeding up, even as render bar shows full green. This is not like... a new issue. It's been the same since I started using After Effects about 20 years ago.I really was hoping at some point this would get solved.I really need audio to be played back correctly, when creating animations for music videos. It sucks to have a pipeline where I have to port everything over to Premiere, or create visual markers to know where my edits should go, or have to RENDER OUT SECTIONS and play them in a standalone player like Quicktime to preview what the audio actually sounds like in my composition.Please. Fix. This.
When writing expressions with required declaritives, ex: "linear"Rather than the auto-complete resolve to "linear()"Perhaps, just maybe as a reminder to users, the structure could be ghosted in place, "linear(input, inputValueLow,inputValueHigh, outputLow,outputHigh);" Another example would be the wiggle expression. ratehr than "wiggle ()" being the auto-complete, some thing like "wiggle (frequency, amount)" would be much more useful. Saving time by avoiding the need to use another application to research or remember the properties would be extremely useful.
The current panel says 'Initializing FastMask2ImgEncod...'. All the time. Its hard to tell if anything is happening.
It would be extremely useful to open a 3D file with its objects separated or to be able to choose from the list which ones would be visible, since After Effects treats a 3D file as a single layer and joins everything together. Animate all objects from the same 3D files independently, without having to import several files from the same project, which makes the process tiring and unproductive.
I would like to invoke scripts from the right mouse button menu. When using script frequently, it is annoying tho have to go the the File/Scripts menu all the time.
Hi!When changing the resolution of a composition I would like my guides to retain their positions relative to the center of the composition. Not top left corner. Qute often I have to adjust the height or width of my composition (for varying reasons...) and this throws my centerline guides off allthe time. Quite frustrating.
Hi! Is there a way to select all keyframes in the graph editor using the keyboard? It's very inconvenient to do this with the mouse.
There is no scripting ability to convert Text Layer from Box Text (aka Paragraph Text) to Point Text, or vice versa.Command IDs for "Convert to Point Text" and "Convert to Paragraph Text" both report "3064".Running app.executeCommand(3064) does nothing. This would be very helpful to have in scripting API. Either as working Commmand ID or new methods. Something like: TextDocument.convertToPointText() TextDocument.convertToBoxText()
I have a plethora of animations already in folders in my Project bin, and what would be great is to be able to select the folders and render them out to same. For example:So you can see how many files are in play. So the idea is to select FINAL COMPS and send that to ME, and ME renders them all out to same folder structure. Is that doable?
Please add a dedicated, assignable keyboard shortcut to toggle between the Value Graph and the Speed Graph in the Timeline's Graph Editor. Currently, this requires a right-click and menu navigation, which is slow and disrupts workflow. A single keystroke would dramatically speed up animation refinement for all users. This is a high-impact, low-effort feature that would significantly improve the daily efficiency of motion graphics artists and animators.
How great would it be if we can Lock / Hide items in Project Panel! To avoid accidental change of template Comps, or just to clean up clutter in projects that need to be used by others for versioning.
This is something I use absolutely every single day, just like many motion designers: editing the path on a shape layer. But unlike other properties, there’s no keyboard shortcut to access it. So you have to click the layer, then unfold the menus until you finally reach the path.In my daily workflow, I found a little workaround: I keep ‘path’ in the search bar, so all I have to do is select the layer and hit search to reveal the path… but honestly, it still feels pretty archaic ^_^’Adobe, if you’re listening, please give us this little shortcut, it would genuinely save us so many clicks. It would be such a time-saver in our daily workflows.Thank you!!
Add the ability to crop a composition to its layer bounds. Useful for when you pre-comp and don't want to inherit the original comp bounds, but use the layer bounds instead.Alternatively, add a pre-comp dialogue option to crop to layer bounds when creating a pre-comp.Similar to what this script does:https://aescripts.com/auto-crop/
As a reasonably new user of After Effects, the only thing I find frustrating is the 'inexact' nature of zooming on the timeline. With other Adobe products (and within the comp window itself) you can zoom in in percentage increments.I find, when working on a project, the tiny zoom at the bottom of the timeline is so small and inexact, I only really use it like a 3 stage zoom, all the way in, medium and all the way out. Anything else is quite finicky. The time navigator (above the timeline is far more useful in that you can drag in or out the view with greater control because it's larger.WHAT ITS MISSING FOR ME IS A box to type or select a percentage. (15%, or 25%, or 50%)This would allow me to use a common percentage for my comps that suits my specific comp.Depending on the length of my comp I quite often use the SAME PERCENTAGE because of the scale of my effects, or clips or the timing of my animation. If I could easily zoom in 25% it would make my life much easier. You could incorpo
I'd find it helpful to have a "Stop after current" button that would continue to render the video that is in progress, and then stop, so that all remaining items are still set to 'Queued'. (Or even for this to be the default behaviour.) Currently, if I've set a lot of videos to render, and need to stop for some reason, I need to stop the queue, and then later find the item that was 'Stopped by user' and re-queue that item. This adds workload and also increases the risk of an item being forgotten during the export process.
