Firefly Creative Challenge: Slaying the Retro 80's look
You've probably seen it all over your feed this week: portraits that look like they were pulled from a shoebox in 1987, warm studio light, big hair, soft focus, film grain, and unmistakably still the person in the original photo. It's a genuinely fun trend. Let's do it properly, in Firefly.
THE CHALLENGE
Turn a photo of yourself into a convincing 80s portrait. Not a filter, a full restyle: era-appropriate hair, clothing, lighting, and grain, while staying you recognizably. Pick a style, or invent your own:
- 📸 Studio Portrait - the classic glamour headshot: dramatic lighting, a big collar or shoulder pads, a plain backdrop.
- 🎬 Bollywood Portrait - the studio-glam look of Hindi cinema's biggest decade: bold color, voluminous hair, statement jewelry.
- 👨👩👧 Family Album - the warm, slightly imperfect portrait that lived in every home's photo album.
- 📰 Magazine Cover - editorial styling, dramatic but natural lighting, the polish of a period cover shoot.
