After Effects 2027 (27.0) is on its way!

We're excited to announce that After Effects 2027 (version 27.0) has officially started rolling out to users around the world!

The release is being rolled out in stages, so don't worry if you haven't seen it in your Creative Cloud desktop app just yet. It may take a few days for the update to become available to everyone.

We'll be sharing the full release notes, documentation, and official announcements at Adobe MAX on Tuesday November 10th, so stay tuned for all the details!

Until then, here's a look at some of the exciting new features and improvements coming in After Effects 2027!
 

Describe what you need in the new AI Assistant panel, and let it organize your project, write and fix expressions, generate images and videos, build compositions and much more.

Use animated precomps, solids, images, and videos as materials for 3D objects when working with the Advanced 3D renderer.

Apply layer-based materials as well as Substance 3D Materials to 3D text and shape layers to replace default materials with photorealistic or stylized looks.

Convert Illustrator text to editable text layers, preserving fonts, size, fills, positions, styles, and variable font settings.

Use the new Adobe Stock panel to add Stock assets without leaving After Effects and download them straight into your Project panel.

Use the new Contour Paint effect to analyze the contours in your frame, then smear and posterize pixels along those contours for a highly stylized result.
 

Safeguard your projects with Auto-Save and quickly recover your work after an unexpected After Effects crash.

In addition, there are more than 50 bug fixes and smaller quality of life improvements (including macOS native full screen mode) in this release. We are excited to see what you make with it!
