CC library - Asset becomes unusable after update

After my last update. Whenever I open an asset from the library and modify and save, it becomes unusable and damged in the library with the cc icon instead of the original thumbnail.

I am also having this issue with my company's libraries. I am up-to-date on version 4.5.225 of CC libraries. When I edit an asset then save it, it often gets stuck updating. If I close the asset before it has finished, the asset becomes an image and can not be opened to edit. Placing the asset in a document shows a low-resolution image.

Thanks for this workarround.  I've been having the same problem and noticed that it didnt happen if I didn't immediately close, but sometimes I do it so automatically.  Havent done any studio work for a few days so hoping its all set now.

Latest update has solved the issues for us and we can finally work like normal again. Let's hope it stays this way!

Nice @Nidal_Berry . Will try this out if all else fails. CC Libraries has updated to 4.5 for us now so will use this for a week or so to see if the issues have been fixed!

I noticed that the issue might be caused due to the saving process. I usually open the library asset, edit it, cmd+s and directly followed by cmd+w.

The scenario that made me overcome this issue for the meantime, is updating the library asset and giving it time to save and sync to the cloud (making sure its thumbnail appears in the library before closing it in the editor).

I humbly suggest the following:

• If the asset is not completely saved and synched then the user is not allowed to close it (as with all adobe applications).

Or

• Since the libraries has their local copies, why don't the asset save first locally (much faster for slow internet connections) and later it can sync to the cloud.

Kindly note that the above proposed workaround worked for me till now, it is not a legit solution though 😞

@Simon237328345e0b No action is needed. It should roll out automatically on a rolling basis.

and how do we update CC libraries?

I've never knowingly done that.

@wt_imagework 4.5 starts roll out next week. You can check what version you have in the What's New menu item in CC Libraries.

@AdbeFlor

We have been and are still experiencing this issue even after the update that came out in April. We are able to manually add graphics through Creative Cloud desktop app, open them via PS, but if we do any changes at all and save it again, it locks and we are unable to open, edit or do anything with that asset again.

We have tried creating new libraries and adding a few brand new empty graphic layers, but the same thing happens no matter what we do.

As Nidal has stated earlier, libraries have been working flawlessly for years, but recently gone bad.

It occurs on Mac Studio M1's, Macbook Pro M3 Max and all running latest Mac OS X and latest PS.
