Language of the keywords changed automatically

Dear Community and Team,

i am Stock Contributor experiencing a recurring issue with the automatic language conversion of keywords in Adobe Stock. Despite taking the following steps, the language of the keywords is automatically changed from English to German. Problem:

  • I upload images with keywords in English only (e.g. “tree”, “house”, “Vienna”).
  • I select all the photos and choose the English language for all of them at the same time.
  • When submitted for review, the language of the keywords is AUTOMATICALLY CHANGED TO GERMAN (e.g. “Baum”, “Haus”, “Wien”).
  • This does happen with the most of the images (some of them remain English)

I also tried to switch every single image to English, uploaded two images – one is now in German, the other is in English. I'm a bit frustrated, tried to change the language and region, but it didn't help. My IP address is certainly from Austria.

What can i do? I have just realized that the language for many images in my portfolio is set to German, and this is definitely incorrect. ☹(

Thank you in advance!!!

Iryna

If this is an Adobe Stock bug, posting it to the community won't be seen by the relevant staff, so you'll need to contact them directly through the form.

    Hello Nancy Oshea,

Thank you for the guidance. Here are the details regarding your points and the issues I am encountering:

    1. Moving the Topic

    • Question: How can I move this existing thread to the Contributor user forum, or should I simply open a new one there?

    2. URL Prefix & 3. Region Settings

    • The URL Behavior: The browser's address bar automatically forces the de prefix. No matter how many times I manually type /en, it reverts right back to de.

    • Region Changes: I tried using the "Change Region" link in the footer to switch to Canada or Belgium, but it didn’t help. The moment I log in, the portal automatically forces everything back into German.

    4. The Core Issue: Keyword Language Switching

In my opinion, changing the region shouldn't be the correct workaround anyway. I am based in Austria, which is correct, but I want to keyword my assets exclusively in English.

    Here is exactly what happens:

    • During Preparation: I explicitly select "English" for the keywords. Throughout the entire preparation process, I see and review everything in English.

    • After Submission: The moment I hit Submit, the keywords for most (but strangely not all) of the images suddenly switch to German.

    • The Problem: Once the photos are submitted, I can no longer change them.

A quick thought on how this works: Since the platform gives us the option to manually select the keyword language, I expected that choice to stay active. It would be incredibly helpful if the system could prioritize our manual language selection over automatic geolocation, or perhaps allow us to edit the language retroactively if a glitch like this occurs.

    Thank you for your help!

    @IrynaW,

A couple more things to try:

    1. Use another web device.
    2. Or clear your browser’s cached data & cookies.

Failing that, submit a support request directly to the Contributor Support Team.

    https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/get-started/manage-your-account/contact-contributor-support-team.html

Unfortunately, only Adobe employees can move posts. So I’m locking this one.

    1. This topic belongs in the Contributor user forum below.
      https://community.adobe.com/stock-contributors-36

    2. In your browser’s address bar, which country code prefixes portfolio?
https://contributor.stock.adobe.com/en/portfolio This is English (en) version.

    3. Or use the Change Region link your Portal’s footer.

    Hope that helps.

thank you for your answer! No, I dont have any translation tools. Keywords remain in English, but the labeled language becomes German.

    Is your translation tool enabled?

I've experienced automatic translations in community posts and other places.
