Adobe Express Video rotation issue.

Each video I have edited today where I had to rotate my video to 90°. It keeps showing an expanded version or extremely distorted version that does not show the accurate thing like when downloaded. So when I download it, it’s fine but in the actual app when I’m editing it, it’s all distorted so I can’t edit clearly. This is the first time it’s ever happened to me. Even when I exited the app and restarted it, each video keeps showing that distortion.

Similar Problem on an Android phone. After the vertical video is uploaded and prozessed it gets a 90° flip inside the video content box and ist streched to hight and compressed to the width. This does not apply to overlay images.

Exported as a PNG, it remains distorted. Exported as a .mp4, it was NOT distorted.

Having the same issue here as well; doesn’t matter if I’m doing it via the app on my phone, through a desktop, or a laptop.

Could you let us know:

Which device you're using, along with the OS version and Adobe Express app version.
Whether this happens with every video you rotate or only specific videos.
If the issue started after a recent app update.

If possible, please share a screen recording showing the video before and after rotating it. That will help us better understand the behavior.

Once we have these details, we'll be able to investigate further.

Express is compressing pixels inside imported portrait videos horizontally, while the canvas and frame remain correct. This is not a crop, resize or Fit/Fill issue. Please escalate as a decoding/rendering defect and fix or roll back.

I believe I found a work around. The portrait (Pixel) .mp4 files were distorting, converting them to a .mov (H.264) in Quicktime and using those files seems to have stopped the bug. This is unacceptable for a paid product. I’m renaming Adobe Express to Adobe DeadlineMiss.

I’m having the same issue on a Mac Tahoe 26.5.2, Chrome 150.0.7871.115 (Official Build) (arm64). Using portrait shot videos from both a Pixel 9 Pro and iPhone. The videos import fine, then after some time, the Pixel Pro videos rotate 90 degrees and stretch. Reimporting is the same result. The stretching is uncorrectable. This makes Adobe Express unusable.

Yes, I am suddenly having the exact same problem. Started yesterday. Totally unworkable now. I did find the same work around as you did and it seems to have solved the problem for now, but it is an unacceptable solution. Really hope they fix this bug fast!

This is happening to me as well, but the video I upload is rotating 90-degrees and warping without me adjusting brightness or contrast. I’m working in Chrome and uploading .MOV directly from my desktop.
