Firefly Video Error: "Too many reference items" appears even with a single frame (Model: Ray334)

Hello Adobe Team,

I have identified the exact cause of the issue on Adobe Firefly Video (generate/video) using the Ray334 model:

  • Single Frame (First Frame only): Works without any issues.

  • Adding Last Frame: As soon as a second reference frame (Last Frame) is added, the system immediately throws the error: "Too many reference items. Please remove some and try again." / "Çok fazla referans öğe var. Lütfen bazılarını kaldırıp tekrar deneyin."

Troubleshooting steps already taken:

  1. Tested in Incognito Mode and cleared browser cache.

  2. Cleared and re-uploaded both frames.

  3. Tested with simple prompts.

The Ray334 model appears to fail/block when generating videos using both First and Last keyframes together.

Please investigate this issue with the Ray334 dual-frame reference feature. Thank you!

    It turns out, Adobe turned off the ability for ff/lf in Ray 3.14 without telling us:

    What Changed Last Week

    Adobe rolled out major updates to its partner model video pipelines, which explicitly redefined how different Luma models handle keyframes. According to Adobe's updated documentation for the video editor: [1, 2]

    • The Limitation: In Adobe's interface, Ray 3.14, Ray3, and Ray3 HDR have been locked down to support only the "First Frame" reference option. [1]
    • The "Last Frame" Lockout: The system was patched so that the "Last Frame" selector is strictly intended for older legacy models like Ray 2 within Adobe's framework. If you have Ray 3.14 selected, the interface will now reject or throw a hidden API error if you attempt the First Frame / Last Frame (ff/lf) workflow

    @droopydog500 @N8. Is this true?

    Dear Adobe Support Team: I am writing to urgently address a critical bug in Adobe Firefly Video. Ray 3.14 is not accepting first/last frame submissions. It displays an error message indicating too many references. I have only uploaded two images. When using both the first and last frames as image references simultaneously, the error message "Too many references. Please remove some and try again" is triggered. This issue is hindering my project; could you please provide a timeline (ETA) for its fix?

    Hi,

    Is there any development.

    While using edit image feature you can not add more than one image. It just flashes but that is it. This is holding me back from working on a large project.

    Ray 3.14 is not accepting first frame / last frame submissions. It says there are too many reference items. I’ve attached only two images.

    This is also happening to me. Exact same situation. About a week ago it was working absolutely fine, now it just gives the error every single time. I’ve tried using different browsers too and it still does the same thing. I would provide images I am using, but can’t due to client confidentiality. I’ve tried PNG files and JPGs in case it was a file format issue and it’s still the same.

    @Stellar_navigator78b1 I also noticed that there was no “prompt”. Test is not exactly a prompt. :) Regardless, this error msg should not occur.

    @abstract_maker2609

    Could you create a full screen video of your workflow showing us what is happening? This would help considerably.

    Provide your prompt and reference image(s) if there are any?

    Which model(s) are you using?
    Consider clearing cache, cookies, and using a different browser.

    Could you give us more information: what msg are you receiving? Are the images your own photos/ images? Were the images generated by another AI Source, if so which one(s)?

    Cheers
