PC crashed - what happened to the image?

So... my PC just crashed... Was exploring the possibilites of the generative fill function...  After booting again, I can't seem to find the image anymore... upon clicking around I found some hint at "saved in browser"? How that? I did download an early version of the image a couple of hours ago... left it to do some work, then returned and fiddled with the tool for another couple of hours... is the image lost? If so , I will return, once I don't risk losing invested time using this tool lol 😛

Hello @Novahawk,

Thank you for your message. I am sorry you are having this problem.

Generations are not saved by default. You have to take action to save them.  For all the ways to save and image, please see: Everything You Wanted To Know About Saving Images From Firefly Text to Image.  This also means that if you are working on an image in text to image or generative fill, and your computer crashes, you will have lost your work unless you save it.  For me, in text to image, I favourite the image I am working on every few steps. Then if my session is lost, I can go back to that. That does have the side effect of making my browser cache large, but I have lots of disk space. In generative fill, I save the image every few generations, so that if I lose the session, I can go back to the last saved image.

There are many other horror stories here in the forum where people lost many hours of work because their browser crashed or reset, computer crashed, etc.  Do not risk losing your work. Save interim work.

Thanks,
