Can no longer import adobe animate FLA files into after effects

Every time I try to import a file from adobe animate in to After effects 2024-2025 it remains stuck at 0 then displays the error message "an error occurred while importing this file . Please try again". I have tried every troubleshooting method possible and spoken to Adobe customer service, no luck. Please help.

    As indicated, the fix is not working. Tried on multiple devices resulting in the exact same error.

    Multiple devices ranging from
    Macbook Pros 16' M4 - 15.6.1 (24G90) Sequoia
    Macbook Pro 13' M1 - 15.6.1 (24G90) Sequoia

    Latest adobe updates and patches applied using the Adobe Cloud tool:

    AE = 25.4.0 (Build 86)
    AN = 24.0.10 (Build 14)

    @Toby5C93 The fix worked back in May. I'm not aware it has broken again. The original issue stemmed from a change the Adobe Animate team made, not something the AE team has changed. If it's broken again, can you please let me know the Operating System you're on and the specific versions and builds of AE and Animate and we'll attempt to reproduce.

    Yes this FIX solution clearly does not work at all - tried on multiple different macs all have the exact same issue after doing the manual update and following the steps described.

    Just fix it properly... today!

    This solution did not work for me on a Apple M2 Ultra , Mac OS Sonoma v14.6, AE ver.25.2.2 // AN v24.0.9

    Looks like we have a fix ready. Here are the steps:

    1. Close any open instances of AE and Animate

    2. From Creative Cloud Desktop app, uninstall Animate.

    3. Restart your machine

    4. Open Creative Cloud Desktop app

    5. Go to "Apps" in the left sidebar

    6. From the right sidebar, click the ... next to Installed Apps and choose Check for updates.

    7. Once the update check has been completed, go back to Apps and find Animate.

    8. Install Animate.

    That should cause Animate to install and the configuration file that has been updated for this problem to be updated.

    You should then be able to bring in the .fla files again to After Effects.

    If you have any trouble with these steps, post back and we'll help how we can.

    @Ulatek333

    While the FLA Importer is prefereable, SWF files exported on the Animate/Flash side will import into After Effects as expected.  I'd almost forgotten how great the FLA Importer is until I had to go back to exporting SWF files manually.

    I am really glad to hear this is going to be resolved.

    I really hope the fix can be released soon because I have a backlog of scenes waiting to be imported into AE.If its much longer I will have to skip post processing altogether.
