"Please connect to the internet" (101)

When I open After Effects, I get this message:
“Please connect to the internet as soon as possible so the license can be activated (101). The license must be activated online within 2 days or it will become invalid.”

This has been happening since yesterday. I’ve already reinstalled the app, signed out and back into my Adobe account, but the message keeps appearing no matter what. I’m really worried because I have important projects to work on in the next few days, and it would be a huge problem if After Effects suddenly stopped working even though my license is valid.

I’ve followed all the troubleshooting steps mentioned in another thread, but nothing seems to fix it. I’m getting desperate. Thanks in advance.

I just got done with Adobe support and they remoted into my machine the Quick Fix was to move all your plugins and extensions to the desk top and start over. This was amazingly fast and effective. I have not had the error yet and I am installing the third party plugins one at a time and relaunching to see if there is are any issues.

Locate your plug in and extension folders and create a new folder on your desktop with the same names so you can replace them if you need to.

  plugins :: Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plugins/7.0/MediaCore

  Extensions ::  Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/

Move all the contents of these folders to the ones on your desktop.

Relaunch After Effects and it should open just fine.

Then start installing your plugins and such at will.

If you are a MaxOne subsriber like me, all of the plugins and extensions install at once and have no issues, so install with confidence. As for all my aescripts plugins those I am going one at a time, so far there have been only one issue with a Marker Remap plugin that will not hold the license when I close the program. So this could be a potential issue so I don't load it unless i need it.

Hope this helps if anyone else is banging their head agaist the wall trying to figure this one out.

I had to go through a few steps to get the issue to disappear. Not sure if all of these were necessary.

  1.  Uninstall Aescripts install manager
  2.  Install new version of Aescripts.
  3.  Close after effects
  4.  Uninstall affected scripts through Aescripts app. Reinstall them and activate licence.
  5.  Restart computer.

This really seems to do the trick (at least for me).

Before that, I resetted the prefs, which worked until I acitvated KBar, Flow etc..

I could not use the "sudo/rm trick" which was posted in the first comments, since Win 10 does not have the Sudo feature.

But after closing AE and manually deactivating and then activating the plugins licenses via the (newest) AEScripts App, seems to work.

Thanks a lot!

The solution to this issue, WORKING EVEN WITH "allow scripts to access internet" on.
so i got in touch with aescripts, and this is what they said -

"We greatly appreciate your patience as we have been working out the issues related to our new site launch.

If you are still experiencing license activation issues, can you please try using the aescripts + aeplugins manager app (https://aescripts.com/learn/aescripts-aeplugins-manager-app/) to activate your license?

—> Please deactivate and activate the license again in the manager.

If you already had the manager installed, you must download the new version that was recently posted as versions before the new site launch are not working.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance."

This is working and no popups whatsoever until now, using geolayers with no issues. try it.

The issue is still persistent, i have opened a ticket with aescripts on their website, hopefully they can solve this dilemma.
Meanwhile, did anyone come up with any solutions or workarounds? I need to enable the allow scripts feature compulsarily, since i am using GEOlayers3.

Uninstalled "Flow" and reinstalled it. That seemed to do it...for now.

Starting to think there is something up with aescripts, or something along those lines. Currently, turning on "access to network" for "Flow" plugin is giving me the popup window (2 days left now).

Ah, yes...as I'm hooking up plugins and extensions again, clicking on "access to network" brought the popup window back again. Turned it off, and no more popup window. Ugh.
