"Please connect to the internet" (101)

When I open After Effects, I get this message:
“Please connect to the internet as soon as possible so the license can be activated (101). The license must be activated online within 2 days or it will become invalid.”

This has been happening since yesterday. I’ve already reinstalled the app, signed out and back into my Adobe account, but the message keeps appearing no matter what. I’m really worried because I have important projects to work on in the next few days, and it would be a huge problem if After Effects suddenly stopped working even though my license is valid.

I’ve followed all the troubleshooting steps mentioned in another thread, but nothing seems to fix it. I’m getting desperate. Thanks in advance.

Please sign out of CCD and quit it.

Make sure none of Adobe apps are up and running.

Go to terminal and run these 2 commands.

  • sudo rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Adobe\ PCD/
  • rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Adobe\ Desktop\ Common/HDBox/

Launch AE and sign in.

@stuh6815553  Yeah, I thought of that too. My AE Scripts + AE Plugins plug-in manager went crazy last days and even though it looks okay now, I initially thought the warning window was for a plug-in error. But it seems like it’s an AE connection issue? Not sure, still waiting for a solution.

@Conor37977424udvaNo, today’s the final countdown day so I’m just using it while expecting that some error might suddenly appear. I still hope that once it’s over it will still be working.

I've also had the same thing. It seems to have happened since there was an issue with AE Scripts+AE Plugins plug-in manager went down a few days ago. Could there be a connection?

So am I going to live without AE even if I'm paying for it?

MacOs Sonoma 14.4.1
My system time is correct.
Now the message says I just have 1 day left.

Thanks for checking. It seems like the issue is specific to one machine.
What OS are you using?

Is the system time correct?

1. I logged in using another computer, and the message doesn’t pop up there.
2. I tried a different network on my current computer, and it still pops up.
3. Yes, my libraries are in sync.

Hello.

Extremly sorry to learn that you are having licensiing issue. To narrow down the issue, can you please answer some questions

1. Have you tried using your creative cloud login on a different machine to check if that works?

2. Have you tried a different network? Just want to rule out the possibility of some firewall/proxy blocking.

3. Are your libraries content syncing successfully?
