Dear Adobe Support Team,

I am facing a recurring issue while launching Adobe After Effects on my workstation. The error message displayed is:

"After Effects warning: Unable to create AGM font ('Adobe Clean' - 'Bold')

Processor: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700 @ 2.10 GHz

Installed RAM: 16 GB (15.7 GB usable)

System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Operating System: [Mention your Windows version, e.g., Windows 10 Pro]

After Effects Version: [Mention AE version, e.g., After Effects 2024

Since none of these steps resolved the problem, I would appreciate your guidance on how to fix this issue. Please let me know if you require any additional details

I had the same issue and i fixed it!

All you have to do is this:

  1. Press Win + R
  2. Type %appdata%/Adobe
  3. Go to After Effects > 25.2 (my version, could be different for you) > Debug Database.txt
  4. And change: UseAdobeCleanFont true true  →  UseAdobeCleanFont true false
  5. Enjoy!

Hello Ae users,

The After Effects team is looking into this issue. We'd like to collect a crash log from anyone currently experiencing the "AGM font" issue on launch. If you are seeing a crash report dialog, you can use the View Report link to collect the log. It would also be helpful to know the OS version for users seeing this error. You can reach me via DM here.

Best regards,

That was how I "resolved" the issue myself. I am hoping they have a better solution. Currently had to turn off auto-updates to keep it at 25.1

I resolved this issue by re-installing version 25.1 over 25.2 and not migrating my preferences. You have a problem with your new update Adobe.

^^^  To follow up - this happens even when trying to start in safe mode and resetting preferences

I am having the same issue. Suddenly started today and AE was working fine 2 days ago.

Hello, I am experiencing the same issue. I receive this message directly before After Effects 25.2 crashes and fails to launch.
Then, I receive this error message:

I tried following this solution as well as this one, but neither solved the issue. Would love to know if/when a solution is found

I'm sorry to hear about the crash you're experiencing.

Could you please let us know which version of After Effects you're using? Also, it would be helpful if you could share the steps you've already tried to resolve the issue. In the meantime, you might find the following article useful: https://adobe.ly/44atliU

Let us know.

Thanks,
