Bridge 16.0.4 fails to launch on Windows 10 with "EnumResourceNamesA" entry point error

Windows 10 Pro 22H2 (Build 19045.6466)
Bridge 16.0.3.21 works correctly.
Updating to Bridge 16.0.4 causes Bridge to fail immediately on launch with:

"The procedure entry point EnumResourceNamesA could not be located..."

Photoshop 2026 works normally. Downgrading Bridge back to 16.0.3.21 resolves the issue immediately.

    Hi,

Thank you for reporting this issue.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.

This launch failure is specific to Windows 10 systems. As a workaround, please uninstall Adobe Bridge 16.0.4 and install Adobe Bridge 16.0.3. This version is not affected by the issue and should launch normally.

We understand that reverting to an earlier version is not ideal, and we appreciate your understanding.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Thanks,
    Bridge Team

I think finding an alternate software, or switching to Dx0 or darktable for raw file processing is the better option. Why pay a cheap skate operation like Adobe who can’t be bothered to keep a simple organizational software like Bridge current because it might force them to what spend a small amount of time, effort, and cost to keep it functional being that many are still using windows 10. Its arbitrary, petty and so bogus, and as well obvious that as far as they are concerned F U subscriber. Do as we want, or bite it. They should be sued for this behavoir. Cancel your Adobe subscription. To hell with them.

    hi all,

i wrote an unofficial fix for this: https://blobstore.mcha.network/bridge10/26.01/
this currently requires patching your bridge executable; use it with caution.

you can leave feedback here or email me.

if you have trouble running the bridge installer, open products/KBGR/application.json and replace all “10.0.26100” with “10.0.19041”.

I followed the suggestion and reinstalled 16.0.3. It works.

It doesn't work for me either, and it seems impossible to install an older version (like the 16.0.3 you're suggesting) through Creative Cloud. The parameters of CC don't offer the option to install older versions.
It's kind of upsetting not to be able to use software that costs so much nowadays.
What is Adobe doing to fix the problem?
Can you provide a link to install Bridge version 16.0.3?

Using Windows 10 for work is itself a kind of torture. For example, its new input method (for non-English languages) causes unexpected errors. Junior editors in film production have to go through this debugging grind to level up—it's an operating system full of challenges and obstacles. Yes, Windows 10 is garbage.

But here's the problem... Windows 10 is a trillion times better than Windows 11. Everyone's comments in this thread are the best proof.

    Who agrees, who disagrees?

Microsoft has extended the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for Windows 10 until October 12, 2027. Users across the European Union can take advantage of this extended support completely free of charge. In other words, the system is still supported and actually has about 40% of the global market. It's outrageous that Adobe, instead of fixing a minor update to a program that works properly on Windows 11 but generates an error on Windows 10, simply makes a fool of itself by switching it to a version compatible only with the latest Windows system. This isn't a change from version 16 to 17 (by one full version number), but a minor correction from 16.0.4 to 16.0.5, which looks simply ridiculous and bizarre in the context of the need to change the system. I know you can stay on 16.0.3 and disable automatic updates, but that's not the point. This is about consumer rights, EU regulations, and protecting customers.

Good catch on the 2027 end date which it makes it even more suss by Adobe and wth they’re doing. May decisions like this bite them in the a**.

I was working on a group project with some other creatives and I was the only one using Adobe...the rest were using Canva’s apps. After much research, I found three companies and their apps to replace what I was using at Adobe/MSFT...and MUCH less expensive!

I find it truly shameful and disrespectful toward paying customers that you have decided to drop support for Windows 10.

We are talking about Adobe Bridge, a file management application—not a piece of software designed to generate complex 3D renders or perform large-scale AI processing.

And above all, we are talking about Windows 10, the second most recent version of Windows, which is still widely used because not everyone can afford or justify constantly upgrading their hardware.

We are not talking about prehistoric software like Windows 98.

To make matters worse, your documentation is inconsistent. Some of your official support pages in languages other than English still state that Windows 10 is supported by the latest version of Bridge, while Creative Cloud refuses to install it and requires Windows 11 instead.

You cannot even keep your own support documentation consistent and up to date.

Adobe, you should be ashamed of the way you are treating your paying customers.
