Bridge 16.0.4 fails to launch on Windows 10 with "EnumResourceNamesA" entry point error

Windows 10 Pro 22H2 (Build 19045.6466)
Bridge 16.0.3.21 works correctly.
Updating to Bridge 16.0.4 causes Bridge to fail immediately on launch with:

"The procedure entry point EnumResourceNamesA could not be located..."

Photoshop 2026 works normally. Downgrading Bridge back to 16.0.3.21 resolves the issue immediately.

    Hi,

Thank you for reporting this issue.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.

This launch failure is specific to Windows 10 systems. As a workaround, please uninstall Adobe Bridge 16.0.4 and install Adobe Bridge 16.0.3. This version is not affected by the issue and should launch normally.

We understand that reverting to an earlier version is not ideal, and we appreciate your understanding.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Thanks,
    Bridge Team

So when most of your money comes from corporate accounts where the users might not be in able to update their windows due to hardware restraints.  This is a ridiculous update. At the end of the day its a file browser. A simple program. It should be useable in windows 95 never mind windows 10.
So you now broke dreamweaver with this local preview token issue.
You now made later versions of bridge incompatible with windows 10.
Adobe premier is already broken on windows 10 and causes havoc with headsets.
When is this nonsense going to end. Never had all these errors when it was a yearly disk release that would have been properly tested.
Like someone else said in this thread. We are just the guinea pigs now to see what they broke this week.

You saved my life!  Thank you all for the help.  Just remember to turn off Auto Updates for Bridge or you’ll have to do this all over again! 😄

I see our understanding and patience has been rewarded with a new version (16.0.5):

Bridge is marked as ‘Not Compatible’ because it wants Windows 11 or later

I’m not downgrading to Windows 11, so that’s certainly one way to ‘fix’ the problem of me having a Creative Cloud subscription.

pretty obvious Adobe made their decision and won’t fix bridge for windows 10…. even though microsoft has pushed extended support out for windows 10 till 2027.

The only reason I haven’t updated to Windows 11 is because I didn’t have a need to do so.  Given that Adobe will be requiring Windows 11 in 2027, the logical thing to do seems to be update to Windows 11.

Is there any reason that I shouldn’t do this?

I had to jump through hoops to get a new laptop with Windows 11 to work with my home network, including a 3 hour session with ChatGPT trying various things to get it to work.  Not to mention the brain-dead taskbar.  Since Microsoft removed all the useful functionality, why didn’t they get rid of the taskbar altogether?  Anyway, I found enough tips and tricks online to make 11 behave more or less like 10.  But I don’t want to have to go through all that again for my desktop.

So the lastest update/fix, v16.0.5, is only compatible with Win11? Will there be an update for Win10 users? Successfully running 16.0.3, but I’m on the edge of leaving Adobe if they’re requiring Win11 to run the latest updates.

So far it only has affected Adobe Bridge. Hopefully the other Adobe products will be fine with the existing versions.

Hopefully, but I wouldn’t hold your breath. Slack has said they won’t support it beyond August 2026.

I have a new MAC coming in a few weeks and may let my MSFT and Adobe subs expire and run some alternatives. We’ll see how it all plays out. It would be foolish for companies not to keep supporting it into 2027 as Win11 is a no-go for me.

I’ve been a long-time Adobe CC user so hopefully they’ll do the right thing. I even set up a Linux distro on a 14 yr old PC that runs great. 🤷‍♂️

ok - can anyone provide a link to download version 16.0.3 or provide details on how to access it from the creative cloud application? Following the elipse on the Bridge application doesn’t provide the option to install past versions (just manage plugins only). I read a post that something has to be enabled in settings to be able to do that but I can’t find that option either!

In Creative Cloud, get all of the apps in a column down the right-hand side of the screen.  If you move your mouse to the right of the word Bridge, you will see three dots. Click on the 3 dots and one of the options is Other Versions.  Click on that and choose Bridge 16.0.3.

We should get a free subscription, as the only testers of Adobe products. AI hallucinate → Compile → Ship. Every time it upgrades, something breaks, although this is pretty special.

I installed the earlier version, and it works!!!  Yay!

Adobe - Please fix this issue.  I shouldn’t have to use an earlier version of Bridge.

For now the fix is to remove Bridge 16.0.4 and install Bridge 16.0.3

Seems to be a bug that only applies to Windows 10 systems.

I can't open Adobe Bridge. I get the error message below. I've un-installed and re-installed Bridge (twice) but I still get the message below.
What do I need to do to fix this problem?  Thanks for any help you can offer.
