Bridge 16.0.4 fails to launch on Windows 10 with "EnumResourceNamesA" entry point error

Windows 10 Pro 22H2 (Build 19045.6466)
Bridge 16.0.3.21 works correctly.
Updating to Bridge 16.0.4 causes Bridge to fail immediately on launch with:

"The procedure entry point EnumResourceNamesA could not be located..."

Photoshop 2026 works normally. Downgrading Bridge back to 16.0.3.21 resolves the issue immediately.

    Hi,

Thank you for reporting this issue.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.

This launch failure is specific to Windows 10 systems. As a workaround, please uninstall Adobe Bridge 16.0.4 and install Adobe Bridge 16.0.3. This version is not affected by the issue and should launch normally.

We understand that reverting to an earlier version is not ideal, and we appreciate your understanding.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Thanks,
    Bridge Team

    Confirmed.
    Windows 10 Pro 22H2.
Bridge 16.0.4 fails with the EnumResourceNamesA error.
Downgrading to 16.0.3 fixed the problem immediately.

Thanks for the confirmation. Can you publish a link to version 16.0.3? I cannot get access to any other version than the current version via my Creative Cloud application.

To confirm/reiterate, YES, uninstalling and installing the previous version 16.0.3 is indeed the (temporary) solution. But what a palava.and waste of time!

Is this problem only affecting Windows 10 users?  If so, how will we know if it gets fixed?

There is no fix, they’re going to Windows 11 and dropping Windows 10 support/development.

If you’re on Windows 10 there are no updates moving forward. Windows 10 support for Adobe Bridge has ended.

Same problem. Version 16.0.3.21 works fine, without problems.

To download OLDER versions of Bridge:

    Go to the ACC application.

    Select the All Apps tab

    Find Bridge

On the far right, you'll see an ellipse, click on that

    Select Other Versions.

Same here, lots of hours wasted, such a nightmare 😥
I finally installed the previous version, it works!

    The following worked for me…

Had to finally install an old version of Adobe Bridge 16.0.2 and copy back my presets, collections and keywords.

Now Bridge is asking to update???? Ya right… may be v17.0.0
