P: Issue with Map module in OS X 10.10 (Yosemite)

On OS X 10.10 (Yosemite), the map in Lightroom's Map module is very slow to load. It takes several minutes before the first part of the map appears, and some parts don't load at all, saying instead "Sorry, we have no imagery here", even though the part in question is on Google Maps. When zooming in or out, it's the same, it takes very long to update.

Let's be clear.

Connection speed is a factor but it is not the whole story as can be seen from the comments above.

Every map application works fine under Yosemite except LR, therefore for Adobe to claim it is an Apple issue seems disengenuous to me.

Adobe have not issued a warning to tell users to be aware of issues if upgrading to Yosemite.

We pay a high subscription fee and Adobe have offered no compensation for the loss of software capability.

I was a huge fan of Adobe but that is seriously eroded after this issue, not just because after 5 months it has not been fixed but because of the stubborn refusal to accept any responsibility.

Sorry Steve - I do not think thats that easy - as I stated before I used my mobile phone as Wifi Hotspot with only EDGE speed - means 0,2MBit/s down and 0,1MBit/s upload - and it works. Slow but it works. With my normal Wifi connection (14 down and 1 Mbit/s upload) it last much longer or some maps will not load at all. So the root cause is not the speed at all.
But right - I assume, if you have an problematic wifi connection with the LR Issue than you will have more problems with smaller bandwith and than you will have mit with a much higher upload speed where the speed balances the issue out to a minimum.
So the question is - why LR sent out that much data when using some wifi connections and much less when using other wifi connection?

Chris, I am sorry but it's a bit thin saying you can't control Apple update how on earth does that stop you saying that some people are having issues with Lightroom so they had a choice if they did the Apple update. Like the others i am concerned what is uploading maps on my machine is the only App that has this characteristic that is Adobe who need an update not Apple and Adobe taking fees for a fault that some who have a bandwidth limit off the ISP that are paying extra because you never declared the issue. Has Adobe now made it clear for customers looking at perhaps moving to Yosemite that issues are know?

I would also like to know what is being uploaded.

Agree Robert.

But you can control your Maps module uploading loads of data.
So, again - what is it uploading?

Unfortunately, we cannot control Apple's OS update schedule.

That is because of the strange data upload fault. 7mbps is enough bandwidth to overcome the bug, 0.7mbps is not.

At 4G connection plus Wifi (11Mbps down 7 Mbps up) works no problems. Back on ADSL (9Mbps down and 0.7 Mbps Up) my Map module slows to a crawl and then stops.
