P: Issue with Map module in OS X 10.10 (Yosemite)

On OS X 10.10 (Yosemite), the map in Lightroom's Map module is very slow to load. It takes several minutes before the first part of the map appears, and some parts don't load at all, saying instead "Sorry, we have no imagery here", even though the part in question is on Google Maps. When zooming in or out, it's the same, it takes very long to update.

Program installers (i.e. the DNG installer) couldn't care less about your Adobe password - that's your Mac asking for your computer admin password.

Well today did yet another fresh install of Yosemite loading files apps now really not very happy i am trying to load the CC app so i can download my copies LR and photoshop. My pass word signs me in fine on Adobe but when i use my password for the dng installer will not accept it.

Will persevere but what a farce this is sorry Adobe but even though you have a monopoly on this kind of software for those who are hobbyist i doubt they will stick with you if you don't sort these issue i had disks a serial numbers no problem with install this CC app no it can't verify password even when i was logged in when i downloaded it

Julie my iMac is a late 2012 21" and the graphics card is
NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 MB.

You say the fix will be in the next release of LR, i.e. version 6. When is that likely to be? Are you suggesting that pro users of LR wait around for that version and in the meantime must use software which they have paid for and yet does not work properly?

With respect, are you serious?

I hadn't thought of the check Paul mentioned above, on my iMac Maps in Aperture is also instant, no problem at all!

My iMac is a 27 inch, late 2013 model with 3.5 GHz Core i7 processor, 32GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB graphics card. In all respects it's a very fast and powerful computer.

My problem is a slow broadband connection (6Mb/s download, 0.7Mb/s upload). Everything else is OK (including Google Maps). I have even checked out the Places (Maps) module in Apple's Aperture product, and it still works really well. It's only the LR Maps module that's unusable. I wonder what sort of product testing Adobe undertake with "real world" users?

I also find it amazing that though Adobe have known about this issue for quite some time, and apparently given up on fixing it in the current version, they are still actively selling LR with no warnings to potential customers that the Maps module has known bugs that could potentially render it unusable!
