P: LrC 15.6: Sliders bouncing in the Develop module

Lightroom was working perfectly this morning.. I come to load in new images and edit some while sitting here.. and as soon as Lightroom opened up - I tried to slide exposure (and other ones to test those...) and the slider immediately jumps one way or another.

I have reset preferences, turned off GPU.. NOTHING is helping.. please help me!

Hi All! Note from the team:

“On macOS Tahoe 26.3 or earlier, if the Develop module sliders move erratically after upgrading to Lightroom Classic 15.6, update to the latest Tahoe version (26.7, or later).”

    Thanks!

I had this issue of sliders in the development module moving to the most negative value when I clicked on them. I got on the help line and asked for a real person, they advised that I reinstall the previous LR version (15.5). I did so and the sliders now working as they should. He said this is a bug in 15.6 that will be resolved in the next upgrade.

I doubt that. Maybe they will fix it, but I would not be surprised if they did not. This is a bug that only manifests itself if you use an outdated MacOS software version. Why should Adobe spend time to fix it? They never said Lightroom Classic will work on every version of MacOS Tahoe, also outdated (and so possibly buggy) versions. Apple did not update MacOS Tahoe to 26.7.1 for no reason… My advise would be to follow the suggestion that is pinned at the top of this thread, not something some support guy said. They are known for not saying the correct things sometimes. That pinned reaction is the official Adobe reaction to this bug.

Whenever I click on any slider in the Develop module of Lightroom Classic, the slider value automatically drops to the most negative value in the range (i.e. it goes to the far left of the slider range). For example, Exposure drops to -5.0, Contrast, Highlights, Whites, Blacks etc drop to -100. The mouse pointer stays where it is (i.e. it doesn’t follow the slider handle). If I then drag the mouse pointer to the right, the slider value follows some distance behind it. It is making Lightroom totally unuseable.

I have a mac mini m4, Lightroom version 15.6. The bug started after I updated to this version a few days ago.

These symptoms are happening on Mac users with older versions of Mac OS 26 (e.g. 26.2).  Many have reported that updating to the latest version, 26.7.1, or to Mac OS 27, fixes the problem.

Ma config : Lightroom Classic 15.6, Apple M2 Max, macOS [ta version].

I am having this exact problem. The slider still works, but will immediately jump to the furthest end of the range and I have to drag outside the box with the cursor to adjust it. It’s somewhat exasperating

@austenblake, @Eric35453624a7r1, see the pinned reply at the top of the thread. Update to Mac OS 26.7.1 or Mac OS 27.
