P: LrC 15.6: Sliders bouncing in the Develop module

Lightroom was working perfectly this morning.. I come to load in new images and edit some while sitting here.. and as soon as Lightroom opened up - I tried to slide exposure (and other ones to test those...) and the slider immediately jumps one way or another.

I have reset preferences, turned off GPU.. NOTHING is helping.. please help me!

Hi All! Note from the team:

“On macOS Tahoe 26.3 or earlier, if the Develop module sliders move erratically after upgrading to Lightroom Classic 15.6, update to the latest Tahoe version (26.7, or later).”

    Thanks!

Assuming you are using a Mac, upgrade the OS to 26.7.1.

Weird to explain but ever since the last update when I click any slider lets say Exposure when I click it and then when i move the mouse to alter it the slider it starts all the way over to the left.

As of yesterday, I also started having the same problem with my LR desktop.  I use a Mac Tahoe 26.1.

I also have the current LR version.  I’ve closed and reopened my LR and computer so that doesn’t seem to solve the problem.  Please advise.

Since two days in Develop module all sliders jump to the left when I want to use them.

Hi, I’m experiencing an issue with Lightroom where the Exposure adjustment has a noticeable delay when I move the slider using my MacBook trackpad. I have already tried the recommended troubleshooting steps, including restarting Lightroom and my MacBook, but the issue is still happening. The Exposure slider does not respond accurately or immediately to my trackpad movement, making it difficult to make precise adjustments. I’m also experiencing similar delays with the Highlights adjustment. Could you please help me troubleshoot this issue or let me know if this is a known bug with the current Lightroom version? Thank you.

Same issue here… Classic 15.6. reporting problems with the jumping sliders with Macbook pro 26.3. I’m trying to reset the version to 15.5.1, but afraid what will happen with the catalolgue i had. Finally, after the coming back to 15.5.1 i can see my catalogue was safe.

Experienced the same problem as of October 4, 2026: jumping sliders using wireless mouse and trackpad on a Macbook pro M4, OS Tahoe 26.2. Problem solved by reverting to Lightroom Classic 15.51 from Classic 15.6.

Update MacOS Tahoe. That will solve it without having to go back to an older version of Lightroom Classic.

Could you please update to the latest Tahoe version and see if the issue still happens?

    Thanks,

Based on the main thread that @dj_paige referenced, the problem may be associated with LR 15.6 running on older versions of Mac OS, e.g. Mac OS 26.0, 26.3, etc. At least a couple people have said updating Mac OS to the most recent version of 26 or rolling back to LR 15.5.1 avoids the problem.

Mac OS 27.0 was released a few weeks ago, is that the version that the OP should try? If not, what is the latest version of Mac OS 26? Giving the version number is much more clear than trying to say it in words.

Updating to Mac OS 26.7.1 (the latest version of 26 released 9/28) is safest. There haven’t been any reports I’ve seen of the problem occurring on recent versions of 26. (I’m on 26.6.2.)

Updating to Mac OS 27 is riskier -- I won’t do it for a couple more months.
