P: LrC 15.6: Sliders bouncing in the Develop module

Lightroom was working perfectly this morning.. I come to load in new images and edit some while sitting here.. and as soon as Lightroom opened up - I tried to slide exposure (and other ones to test those...) and the slider immediately jumps one way or another.

I have reset preferences, turned off GPU.. NOTHING is helping.. please help me!

Hi All! Note from the team:

“On macOS Tahoe 26.3 or earlier, if the Develop module sliders move erratically after upgrading to Lightroom Classic 15.6, update to the latest Tahoe version (26.7, or later).”

    Thanks!

Probably the same bug as this:

You can try reverting to LrC 15.5 and see if that helps.

Regarding LrC not starting, please describe that part in more detail.

This happened to me right after upgrading to 15.6.  The sliders suddenly jump one way or the other.  Apparently Adobe knows of this issue, but hasn’t yet acknowledged it as a bug.  I reset the version to 15.5.1 and the problem disappeared completely.

Are you using MacOS Tahoe, and if so, did you update to its latest version?

Je hebt dit gepost in Lightroom ecosystem forum, maar dit klinkt alsof je Lightroom Classic gebruikt. Er is een lange draad in het Lightroom Classic forum over dit probleem.

Upgrading Mac OS Tahoe to version 26.7.1 sorted the issue for me ( was on 26.0.0 )

Once again: do not just post “I have the same issue”. That does not add anything useful. Just add your vote, but don’t post anything if you are not willing to add any info about your system. I noticed that those people who did add info about MacOS, seem to use older versions of MacOS Tahoe, like 26.0 or 26.3. Update MacOS Tahoe to the latest version and see if that fixes the issue.

See my post below. Updating to the latest Tahoe 26.7.1 sorted the issue for me. My MacBook air was on 26.6.2 and that was fine… ( something that threw me was that you said you were on 26.3 and others are reporting the issue with that version )

Seems like some kind of issue with the newest Lightroom Classic & older versions of Tahoe …

Same problem as mentioned earlier with Develop Module sliders. Very annoying. Claude recommends setting preferences to default. Has anyone tried that? You can adjust the highlights, shadows, etc. by using numbers in the box to the right. But that’s an awfully slow way to edit!

Same. I discovered that placing the cursor over the bar itself to the right of the slider is letting me control them, not as smoothly as it should but at least I’m no longer dead in the water. Also if you select the setting you can either type in a number, like Temp 5500, or use the up and down arrows to adjust incrementally. It’s still a pain in the ass but at least it’s functional, and you can create presets so you don’t have to struggle with every image but we shouldn’t have to do all this. ADOBE, WE ARE PAYING FOR A WORKING PROGRAM, FIX THIS!!!

Appologies for the large number of message from me here. I didn’t think before, but I tried it on my M4 Macbook Air.( I don’t tend to use lightroom much on it)  Lightroom 15.6 ( it had auto updated ) worked perfectly.

The only thing I noticed between the two was an updated version of Tahoe - 26.6.2 on the Air, 26.0.0 on the Mini.

Updating the mini to version 26.7.1 - fixes the issue… no erratic sliders...

Perhaps try updating you Mac OS to the latest (26) version ( I’m not risking 27 quite yet )
