P: LrC 15.6: Sliders bouncing in the Develop module

Lightroom was working perfectly this morning.. I come to load in new images and edit some while sitting here.. and as soon as Lightroom opened up - I tried to slide exposure (and other ones to test those...) and the slider immediately jumps one way or another.

I have reset preferences, turned off GPU.. NOTHING is helping.. please help me!

Hi All! Note from the team:

“On macOS Tahoe 26.3 or earlier, if the Develop module sliders move erratically after upgrading to Lightroom Classic 15.6, update to the latest Tahoe version (26.7, or later).”

    Thanks!

    Can I suggest that people:

    1. Supply a System info dump from lightroom classic: Help->System info (then copy) - paste into a reply.

    2. Say whether they noticed this right after updating to Lightroom 15.6 ( note that a lot of people will likely have automatic updates on… hence the number of  ‘yesterday it was fine’)

    3. If it’s affecting you - then Vote for it … otherwise it’ll never get looked at.

@JohanElzenga Can you supply your System Info - as this is not affecting you and you seem on a ‘similar’ system to those who have supplied a system info ( and who are experiencing the issue) it might point out some kind of difference?

    It’s annoying.
But for now just klick and drag on the number next to the slider. I feel like everyone has to deal with the issue for now.

Same issue here. Any fixes yet or has the problem been recognized?

This is exactly what I meant when I said “A message that only says “me too, fix it!” does not help very much, I’m afraid”. Give more information. Did this happen directly after you updated to Lightroom Classic 15.6? Did Lightroom Classic 15.6 work fine previously and it started out of the blue? Did you change anything else on your system (MacOS update, some other app update)?

The problem came straight after the update to 15.6 and was fixed when I downgraded to the earlier version. So its obviously that is the issue and I think that has been pretty much been established already and I was just asking if there was a fix on the way because it should have been already.

Most people here say that it just started, without mentioning any possible cause. Did you update anything? Anything at all: Lightroom, MacOS, any other app? Did you do something else with the images than before? A different profile? Another different step in your workflow? I can’t reproduce this on my M1 Max MacBook Pro running MacOS 26.3 and Lightroom Classic 15.6 and neither can my wife using the same setup. I also don’t understand how a bug could all of a sudden manifest itself out of the blue, without any changes compared to the day before when the bug wasn’t present yet. In order to fix a bug, Adobe must be able to reproduce it first, so any additional information will help them. A message that only says “me too, fix it!” does not help very much, I’m afraid.

I think you’ll find people are saying that it is when the upgrade to 15.6 happened that this was first noticed. People are also saying that reverting to the previous problem sorts this out which squarely points to an issue with 15.6. ( I would disagree that this is a ‘solution’ however )

The exact mechanincs of what OS/Processor/RAM etc. is causing this - I don’t know - I’ve done a system info dump of my setup where the issue is manifesting itself - I’ve also included a number of different steps i’ve tried to remedy this: Different mouse, different keyboard, wired/wireless, GPU off, Preferences reset etc etc - Plus I’ve put a video of the exact issue.

Perhaps if you supply a System info dump of your setup it could help narrow the issue which Is a very real one.

Some people say that it happened after the update, but several people suggest it came out of the blue. For example, the OP of this thread says: “Lightroom was working perfectly this morning.. I come to load in new images and edit some while sitting here.. and as soon as Lightroom opened up - I tried to slide exposure (and other ones to test those...) and the slider immediately jumps one way or another”. One of the most recent additions: “Only started happening yesterday and it’s very annoying!”. And another one: “Same here. It just broke starting today.” Or this one: “I’m having the same problem. Worked fine a few days ago, now when I loaded new photos the sliders jump all the way to the left.”. None of these people say that it happened right after they updated Lightroom…

That would suggest something else might be needed as well for this bug to manifest itself. Which would also explain why most people, including me and my wife, don’t see it. Without knowing what that something else might be, Adobe might not be able to fix this bug.

This is happening to me as well. I only have to slightly move the sliders left or right and they always jump all the way to the left. Only started happening yesterday and it’s very annoying!
