Not sure if this is the right place for a bug report, if not could anyone direct me to the right place please.

Clicking develop module at top right from the Library module opens the photo with film strip and both side bars black empty spaces. Initial few times I had to quit and restart Lightroom but then discovered switching to grid view again and develop keyboard short cut, everything comes back.

Official Response

The Lightroom team is actively investigating and working on fixing this intermittent issue of UI panels becoming Black, and we are close to finding a solution for it, however, it is not yet in the most current update (6.9/CC2015.9). We are hoping to have it fixed in next update.

For workaround information please see this document: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-panels-black-issue.html

Thank you for your patience.

I'm on Macos sierra with lightroom CC 2015.8 - When I'm moving from the library module to the development module the right and left panel disappear and become black (they are not closed, but no way to see them). I've to lunch the import module and closed it to see them reappear

Thanks for the info - but can you provide an ETA for a fix?
This is really dragging on.

Black panels bug is now also affecting El Capitan. All workarounds prove temporary.

Click the yellow button on the title bar to hide the whole window and then click in the dock to bring back. My experience is that it will refresh and be good for a few minutes but only by quiting and restarting the software will I get a longer lasting relief.
