Entering Slideshow after selecting a few pictures gives me a black screen and a wrong preview, see atached picture. This happened after upgrade to LR5 earlier this week and was not a problem in any version of LR4. I have tried with both NEF and DNG files. The only thing working is Export to PDF.

I am running a Dell Studio XPS with Windows 7 64-bit and ATI 4850 graphic.

Ok Becky, this look like a LR issue. When can we expect a fix?

Same problem as I have. I reloaded 5.3 and still an issue. 4.0 works fine. Not sure what is meant by accented characters. Nothing on my MAC has changed.

I upgraded to Lightroom 5 and I have a problem with the slideshow module, I get Black Screen when I press play. In Lightroom 4 I do not have a problem it works fine.

I have no accented characters in my username and I have the slideshow problem. I maintain a user account used only for testing (username is Testy). The problem occurs there, too.

We have uncovered a bug where the slideshow acts this way when your username on the OS contains accented characters. We are working to fix this.
