P: Using Enhance Features and Edit in PS, file fails to open in PS.

After updating LrC to 14.4, and then using super resolution on a RAW file, then exporting it to Photoshop, Photoshop starts, opens, but no file appears and no menu items or tools work in Photoshop.   Task Manager in Windows  is necessary to close Photoshop.  The same procedure is applied to the same RAW file, after resetting the RAW file, but without super resolution or denoise being applied.   The RAW file is sent to Photoshop, Photoshop opens and works as usual.      These procedures were applied to several other RAw files with and without super resolution applied.   The results in Photoshop were repeated as above.   Use super resolution on a file in LrC then go to Photoshop - Photoshop will not function.     Solution : stay with LrC 14.3.1 if you wish to use Denoise that works.

@Linda22443768756u: "I have experienced the same issue and have spent hours truing to work around it so that I can do a large printing job for a show.  Now, at least I can avoid the problem with subsequent images and perhaps work around the problem a different way."

The problem described in the first post in this thread was fixed in LR 14.5.  Is your "same issue" that after you apply Detail > Super Resolution to a raw file in LR and then do Edit In > Edit In Photoshop, the image doesn't open in Photoshop?

If that's your problem, then as a first step, do the command Help > System Info in LR and verify you have version 14.5.  Then in PS, do the same command and verify you have 26.10.0.

If you have a different problem, please start a new thread describing it in detail, and be sure to include the output from Help > System Info.

I am happy to see this explanation.  I have experienced the same issue and have spent hours truing to work around it so that I can do a large printing job for a show.  Now, at least I can avoid the problem with subsequent images and perhaps work around the problem a different way.  L.R

Greetings all,

A new update for the Adobe Photography products has been released.  The August update contains an update regarding this issue.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by pressing  [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Thank you for being so patient.

Hello

I noticed a bug/problem. If in Lightroom (Classic) I mark the "RAW details"

and for further editing I try to open the file in PS (Edit in Photoshop), then the file does not open, I have to close the PS process in the task manager.

After removing the "RAW details" option, the file opens without problem.

@saraceno_media: "I am getting a message saying "We encountered an issue with your results. Please view our guidelines and try again." I notice this error is limited to images containing nudity."

You've posted in a thread about an unrelated issue.

To see the "guidelines" (rules), click the miniscule "?" icon in the upper-right corner of the Remove panel and then click Generative AI User Guidelines.

Adobe's AI is a repressed Victorian and often faints at the slightest hint of skin or small children. In geek speak, it has a high false-positive rate for adult and child p o r n (not allowed to type that in the forum), making it unsuitable for many kinds of innocuous professional use.  Edward Weston wouldn't be able to use it!

I recommend you post your feedback in the this thread, where Adobe wants all feedback about Generative AI Remove:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/p-generative-remove-feedback-lr-classic-amp-lr-eco/td-p/14797225

Many others have complained about this, and the more complaints registered there, the more likely Adobe (might) change the implementation of their "guidelines".

I have been running into a roadblock using the AI features in Camera Raw (Bridge)- specifically generating expanded backgrunds and AI generated removal. I am getting a message saying "We encountered an issue with your results. Please view our guidelines and try again." I notice this error is limited to images containing nudity. I am a professional photographer and my client work often includes human nude portraits. Is there some sort of restriction happening here? If so, how do I get around this? I'd hate to think Adobe is restricting editing certain photo content by professional, paying users.

Thank you Luca, Yes, even though the denoising function is integrated like the other classic tools, I preferred the old method too. We could see the progress bar moving forward, so it's hard to see the work progressing or when it's finished.
I note that if I use camera raw instead of lightroom, the super resolution doesn't crash photoshop.

I am experiencing the same issue, but weirdly enough, Photoshop doesn't freeze when the Edit in PS is launched from a Virtual Copy that has Denoise or Superresolution applied to it.

Btw. This new way of non-destructive application of Denoise makes editing slower in my case. I didn't experience these performance issues before. Sure, creating a new DNG file takes time and space, but the workflow was much faster.

I'm using Windows 11 and have discovered that if I use super resolution in Lightroom and then try to edit in Photoshop, the image won't load into that application. PS then won't even close and I have to reboot the computer to start my workflow again WITHOUT super resolution having been used in LR.
